Washing the dishes can be a trip. With an ADHD brain, ordinary chores may be challenging, frustrating, and "undoable". But such everyday experiences also reveal a wonderful and surreal way to sense the everyday world and notice things.

An afternoon well spent playing with a plastic plate, a Zoom Handy Recorder, and a DAW. I made 3 little loops in the end (mixed coarsely here)

Bass Loop Jammie

20 kids, 10 field recorders, 3 excursions hosted Summer 2023 at Roundhouse Community Centre as part of their summer arts camps. I was blown away by how the kids interacted with the space and every possible way to experiment with sound outside! They narrated, investigated, instigated, and discovered a wide range of sounds, while learning techniques for capturing different textures and distances with their mics. After the excursions, I set up an editing/processing station on the big screen to do live creation while the kids worked on other activities, with participants coming by to have a listen/watch the in-progress composition being arranged on screen. The end result is this short composition that captures the joy of their playing with sound and place.

Sea Readings Or A Watery Grave

This track was created for the 2018 Spring Soundwalks, hosted by Vancouver Soundwalk Collective and Vancouver New Music and held in the Powell and Victoria area of East Vancouver. Participants walked while listening to the audio collage 'If You Lived Here' by Danica Evering and Helena Krobath.
