These Times

This EP is the result of a long-standing creative exchange between ArpXP and Was A Be – a process that unfolded over the years in a spontaneous, unstructured way, capturing the spirit of the moment rather than following a rigid plan.

These tracks are not the pair’s first collaborations; the two artists have been close friends for many years. Each piece was born in different circumstances and under different inspirations, but they evolved gradually, reshaped and fine-tuned through countless tests on the dancefloor.

ArpXP is among the first Italian DJs and producers to break into the international drum & bass circuit. Since the early 2000s, first with his project S.M.O.K.E. and later as a solo artist, he has released on iconic imprints such as Metalheadz and many more. He is also one of the driving forces behind the renowned SUNANDBASS Festival, where he curates the label SUNANDBASS Recordings.

Was A Be, meanwhile, has established himself as one of the most influential figures in the Italian scene. Known for his eclectic and boundary-pushing style, he has released music on some of the most respected labels in the game, including Subtitles, Critical, Shogun, Gutterfunk and Neosignal.

Veteran word-slinger Visionobi, aka Richard Twaites, is no stranger to the Soulvent camp. After releasing his debut LP ‘Weather The Storm’ on the label back in 2023 to great acclaim, he then followed it up with the notably introspective ‘Open Book’ EP in 2024. Returning once again to his soul-soaked home, we are thrilled to announce another follow-up release, this time in the form of the Modus Operandi EP! 

More than charged up for this one, Rich’s rhythmic playful flow doesn’t hide for long on ‘Enamour’ - slinging a cacophony of rhymes at your headtop from the get-go, while Bristol and Burton-On-Trent provide the beats courtesy of Teej & R3IDY. With an array of bass textures, sound-design and cleverly constructed wordplay on offer, there’s surely enough aural candy in this one to keep your blood sugar high until next Christmas.
