My music ranges from Hip Hop, to trap and RnB and it's inspired by many different artists, but I'd say predominently by Drake and the whole OVO movement. All of my material is original and produced by me.

Helaina is an up & coming music artist originally from Sacramento, CA.  Born March 12th, 1985 she grew up in North Highlands (Sac) w/ a desire to write.  Growing up she was mostly involved in team sports like Basketball & Softball but always had an urge to write music.  After high school, Helaina moved to a small town (El Centro) in southern California where she played one year of college ball.  Shortly after she moved to San Diego, Ca to find work.  Eventually she ended up back in Sacramento before returning to Imperial Valley.  She began working at a California State Prison in the records office.  Here, is where her thirst for music began to grow.  She knew a desk job and monthly pay wasn't going to cut it.  She often got caught writing lyrics at her desk, (once her work was completed of course) playing music so the entire office could hear & dancing about.  Helaina felt something missing in her life and thought it might help to transfer back home.  Once back in Sacramento her life completely changed.  She was laid off at her position w/ the state, evicted from her apartment & had no where to go.  A few close family and friends helped her through this difficult time.  Months later Helaina, had an opportunity to move to Los Angeles, Ca & so she did.  February of 2012, Helaina was a proud resident of Hollywood, Living right off Sunset Blvd.  Unfortunately, she still went through troubling times & didn't really know exactly where life was headed but she firmly believed she was in the right spot at the moment.  Although, she networked w/ a few other artists, fashion designers, producers etc Helaina never really put herself out there as an artist, still trying to find herself in the music world.  She stayed writing music, recording samples & even created a networking group for other female artists (such as herself) called "Stud Rappers" to connect w/ more artists.  Although, she felt like it was a simple group she was able to create an avenue for herself and many other artists to be heard.  Since then, Helaina moved back to San Diego, Ca where she continues to write music, record samples and network.  She started a new group on Facebook called "The Official Collaborative Network" where she connects artists from around the world on songs and promotes them on her own time.  Although, Helaina sees herself as more of a songwriter / artist she knows that NETWORKING is a huuuuuge factor in a persons music / entertainment career.  By reaching out to others Helaina has been able to receive opportunities to perform, collab, interview, etc.  Although, she hasn't put out any major recordings she hopes that her Education from Studio West for Audio Production / Music Business will help her guide her own career on the right path as well as get into some artist development.  "I've always loved music since I was a child.  It wasn't until I really looked back at my childhood that I realized all of the elements were there.  I used to write every single day since I was able to, be it a poem or thoughts or about my day.  I never knew my words would turn into music someday.  I even used to sneak my radio at night just to fall asleep.  I almost felt as if music helped raise me.  I had a sensitive child hood, not necessarily rough .. but I definitely endured abuse and some emotional moments .... having music literally made me feel safe enough to shut my eyes .... " - HELAINA - As Helaina continues her music journey she's remains open to collabing w/ as many artists as possible (which is actually her main goal for 2014 FREE COLLABS).  Helaina's goal is not only to make a name for herself but develop & grow as an artist .. be more comfortable w/ sharing her inner most feelings by recording them to rhythmic tunes.  Although, her music may very well fall under the category of "HIP HOP", Helaina isn't opposed to being open to many other genre's, in fact she embraces all artists and types of music.  She posts samples of songs she writes, some may be re-recorded later on for albums or mix tapes, others sold to artists for lyrics, some just for fun ... but no matter what she posts .. she wants listeners to know that she has something to share w/ any and everyone ... she welcomes everyone to join her on her journey and watch her develop and grow.  "It's a growing process, hell ... everything in life is a process .... i don't mind showing my faults or mistakes along w/ my triumphs ... it humbles me .. it lets me know who's really rockin' w/ me ... it also shows my willingness and encouragement of others by putting myself out there ... I know my music isn't professionally recorded ... I recorded it at home on my lap top w/ the computer mic ... lol .. most people out here frontin' talking bout "we in the lab / studio" ... nah bruh ... i'm at home for the moment .. but everything I'm doing now has a purpose ... so long as i trust the process and keep the faith ... there's no telling how far i'll go ... even if all i was meant to do was show others they could make it as well .... then i've done what i came here to do .. bless up!"  -HELAINA-
