Reckoning Records is proud to announce the upcoming release of the ‘Memories’ EP by none other than label boss, Hasan Ghazi. Set to drop on December 13, 2024, this special release takes listeners on a heartfelt journey through Afro and Progressive House sounds, marking a significant departure from Hasan’s usual style.

The ‘Memories’ EP features two stunning tracks: the Original Mix by Hasan Ghazi and an uplifting remix by Ayaōla. Hasan’s Original Mix is a seven-minute emotional journey, filled with deep chords, delicate piano melodies, and motifs that evoke a sense of nostalgia and warmth. Carefully placed shakers, hi-hats, and percussive elements add brightness, while atmospheric sounds from analog sessions lend the track a gritty, authentic character.

Unlike anything he has produced before, Hasan Ghazi crafted ‘Memories’ as a reflection on his life in Canada from 2020 to 2024. Every chord and melody in the track speaks to the friendships he built, the music he created, the performances he delivered, and the moments of watching his son grow. The ups and downs of this transformative period are encapsulated in this track, serving as an ode to the beautiful memories made. The track’s simplicity, paired with powerful elements, captures an emotional resonance that listeners can feel deeply. The breakdown, with its lush pads, brings forth a wave of sentimentality, only to rise again with smooth, uplifting melodies that deliver a triumphant drop.

Joining Hasan on this journey is Ayaōla, a talented DJ and producer whom Hasan met during his time in Toronto. Ayaōla’s remix is a brilliant reinterpretation of the original—a more upbeat progressive house version that incorporates vocal splices and creative effects. The remix maintains the essence of the original while adding a fresh and vibrant flavor that only Ayaōla’s artistry could bring. With a deep understanding of the emotional depth behind the track, Ayaōla truly delivers a remix that elevates the core spirit of ‘Memories.’
