Lekhwepha also known as The1st is born Diphapang Mashoenyane from Sasolburg Chris Hani in Zamdela,he started music during early secondary level & after appearing on shows like Jam Alley,Street Radio & Shift.He has two kids,a Son & Daughter & 3 siblings,(2 Sisters,him & his last born Brother) & both his parents past on.

He quit a career in retail twice as a store manager to persue a Musical career.He started performing in an around the vaal until he got discovered by Arthur Mafokate & got signed to 999 Music & released 2 albums under the label on which he worked with various Artists & producers in the industry.He later on started his own record label called The1stMusic.He's got a new team he works with in terms of his music & running the label.He both produces & composes his Music.He even started an acting career on the new Sabc 1 drama series Tjovitjo where he acts a character named after himself "Lekhwepha".
After touring the country promoting his brand last year & this year,he's about to embark on an African tour starting in Lesotho,Botswana,Zimbabwe & Namibia promoting his latest single titled " Tsipa".He raps & sings in Sesotho with influences of reggae & famo(Sotho cultural music),The 1st came up with a sub genre/culture known as "UrbanSothoSwagg" & also initiated a movement called "Bokhwepha" which is also an influence to his Image.
