Based in Queensland, Australia, Nerang Recordings has put out music from Interplanetary Criminal, Subjoi, DJ Swagger, DJ Bowlcut, J. Albert, Cassettes For Kids, and many more since its inception in 2016. Reaching five years of the imprint, head honcho Dj Whipr Snipr curates the second ‘Freaky Friends’ compilation, featuring contributions from a host of label associates and hotly tipped producers for six fast-paced, heavy-hitting tracks
 
Leading the release, Shall Not Fade and E-Beamz affiliate DJ Swagger’s ‘Hoticewater’ blends deep oscillations with skipping breaks and shimmering pads, with Low Tape’s ‘So Delicious’ following, keeping the energy high. 
Striking vocals meet trippy FX and electro-tinged drum patterns across the track, a continuation of the DJ/producer’s releases on the likes of X-Kalay and Of Paradise. 
Fresh off the back of their recent ‘Sportsgoth’ EP, Brazil’s Nørus and Dj Whipr Snipr collide once more on ‘Molecular Collision’, bringing classic 808 kits, acid lines, and squelchy synthesisers together. 

Classic electro sounds meet modern production techniques on LA-based Ole Mic Odd’s ‘In The House’, as robotic vocal lines meet heavy arps. Ramping up the tempo, Berlin-based Nasty Enterprises boss Nasty King Kurl returns to the label with a fast and powerful off-kilter jam, leaning on freaked out vocals and tough percussion. 
Rounding out the release, Cologne’s Turk Turkelton offers up ‘Offenbachs Father’, delivering a track complete with razor-sharp drum workout and expressive synth work.

The EP, ’Still Sick’ contains 4 original compositions intended for the after hours dancefloor. The EP pulls inspiration from house, old school four-on-the-floor thumpers, and Memphis rap, all compressed together.

Side A begins with “Still Sick” a pumping track, pairing melodic pads with thick low end. Following this, "Kilos" comes kicking in the door with a fresh baseline groove, mixed with Memphis vocals to make you move.

Side B doesn’t disappoint as ‘Club Up’ combines vintage, worn out pads and driving low end, with classic 909 hi-hats slicing through the mix. To bring you all the way is ‘Back To Us’, a musing on the meaning of life and death; a must listen. Thanks Ricky.

Introducing an insane collection of complete re-imaginings of some of the biggest tunes from our very first release: Ghettoraid Vol.1. No straight edits on this one, it's all high-newtrition, juicy fresh content! From the mirror-sheen, clinical electro of Mike Starr's J@net rework, to the rave fave that is Rory Kelly's Big Mama RMX of The Past, to URTE's hands-in-the-air breaks version of Could It Be, this release has something for everyone who likes it fast, funky and "auf die Fresse".
We started collecting tracks at the beginning of 2021 and after a surprisingly busy summer and some wild reactions testing them out on unsuspecting Berliners, we are finally delighted to say that they will drop on January 31st. Not only will they be available digitally via Bandcamp, but we will also be offering them on a limited edition USB Stick, which will be the final in our series of engraved thumbdrives. For those who have been asking us to reissue the Ghettoraid Vol. 1 USB, this is your chance to get what you need as we will be bundling all the tracks from the original release with the stick in addition to the new remixes and some spicy bonus content of course.

Mathis Ruffing — Ode 2 Eating Ass (Souci Remix) [RAIDERS]

Broosnica's latest release contains some of the most interesting lofi house experiments from the past 2 years. A tribute to classic tracks from artists such as DJ Boring, DJ Seinfeld, Mall Grab and Ross from Friends, all of whom are producers who originally released lo-fi house music and have now moved away from it and release completely different music. He wanted to once again return to that original sound and say that this genre has completely changed and in a classical sense lo-fi house is dead.

PREMIERE: Broosnica - Sleepy Fingers [Filth Inc.]

I was first turned on to Goa music in the early 90s, young and innocent, discovering the communal state of trance for the first time. Back then I wasn’t interested in its roots or it’s origins and preferred to get lost in music not thinking of the days to come or those gone by.
When it all became formulaic and a genre as such, things started to lose their magic and I begun to explore sounds of the past, turning my nose up at something which for me had lived it’s course…
I dived into a whole new sonic horizon, old relics which sounded new to me and more interesting than a lot of contemporary releases. Unconsciously, I was drawing a map which covered many seminal dancefloors worldwide. I would later find out that the distance between most of these tracks had no boundaries as they could just as well have been played in Chicago, Manchester, Gent, Ibiza, Baia Degli Angeli, or Goa…
This mix can be listened to like a GPS directing you towards those places, somewhere in the mid 80s, with Goa as the meeting point and final destination. Funnily enough it is also very close to the first mixes that helped put my name on the map almost 20 years ago…

Influenced by early acid techno and electro and armed with a love for stripped back house, 6 months ago I started learning in a friend's studio and under his guidance we began making tracks together. Since then, I've been producing with my own equipment using analogue and digital gear.
Currently, producing raw and lo-fi house under the alias SAFEWORD with another project in the pipelines offering more of a techno feel, 2017 will see my first live project bringing together a lengthy blend of acidic techno, electro and hypnotic disco.
