Hello everyone,
this is finally my first original tune "Elwood's Tune". I wrote the lyrics and the melody - for the first time.

Song background:
I wrote the song influenced by the movie "Harvey" from 1950, starring James Stewart. The main character Elwood is a warm and pleasant human being and is starting to have a friendly conversation with everyone he meets. Usually he even invites them for dinner to his home. Even though it's not the only thing the movie is about, I think that in today's day and age - 73 years later - we could use some of this care and friendliness towards others. Maybe even more than ever.

Grand Jacques (Christian Portet / Myckaël Marcovic feat. Jean-Paul Gaido-Daniel)

This song started out many years ago as a novelty party spoof on blues. I would ad lib the lyrics and improvise an accompaniment on acoustic guitar which meant no two performances were ever the same. See Retrospection’s Facebook page for a sample.

Recently I decided to do a serious blues rock version and this current track has been inspired by the blues rock style of Eric Clapton and the licks by other blues artists. The lyrics still do contain just a little hint of the mischievous fun from the old party days.

J'ai toujours chanté depuis tout petit des chansons de toutes sortes d'abord en colonies de vacances, puis à l'école en tant qu'élève, puis dans la chorale de mon lycée et du conservatoire de Saint-Maur-des-Fossés, où j'ai aussi travaillé la clarinette, et, après avoir fait musicologie à la Sorbonne Paris IV, pendant 39 ans en tant que professeur d'éducation musicale dans les écoles élémentaires de la ville de Paris (aujourd'hui à la retraite) avec un répertoire pour enfants, de variété ou de chansons que j'ai écrites pour mes élèves.

C'est sans doute ce qui explique mon éclectisme tous azimuts  :
