2017’s first Drumcode release comes in the form of chart topping regular Julian Jeweil, who’ll be putting out his first solo effort on the label. Jeweil’s ‘Rolling EP’ showcases his skill as a producer and kicks off with the emphatic title track ‘Rolling’. The perfect soundtrack for the early hours in the club, this sweaty affair proves just why he’s at the top of the game right now. ‘Venice’ and ‘Blue’ illustrate his signature sound to a tee, with the EP’s final track ‘Traffic’ an acid-tinged behemoth, guaranteed to light up any set.

From Another Mind, the techno party and label from southern Germany, is putting out a pair of remix EPs in February. 

Version 004.1 and Version 004.2 are made of reworks of material that From Another Mind bosses SHDW and Obscure Shape have released across three EPs since launching the label in 2015. The lineup of remixers includes some of the biggest names in the business. Rødhåd leads off the first set, which also features James Ruskin, Dax J and Shlømo. Meanwhile, the second EP opens with a joint rework from Tale Of Us and Mind Against, with Inland, Ryan James Ford and Konstantin Sibold contributing as well. 

Both EPs will come on vinyl and digital formats, with separate cover artwork that's designed to sit next to each other.

SHDW & Obscure Shape - Wenn Die Masken Fallen (Rødhåd Version)

Davide Zeta’s Decay Records marks its third year in the game with a mix comp from California-born DJ and producer Pezzner, featuring exclusive tracks from some key underground figures such as Franck Roger, Alex Arnout and Neverdogs plus many more.

Seattle resident David Brian Pezzner has been a longstanding member of the underground house scene, earning his stripes as one half of the west Coast house duo Jacob London in the nineties. Pezzner has since established himself as a prolific solo artist, releasing his first album in 2010 on Tom Roberts and Jamie Odell’s revered Freerange Records, with subsequent albums dropping on the Dusseldorf based Systematic Recordings and M.A.N.D.Y’s Get Physical. Pezzner’s productions and versatile DJ sets have landed him regular gigs across the globe in some of the most renowned festivals and clubs including Seattle’s Decibel, Amsterdam’s Trouw and Paris’ Rex Club.

After a string of remixes on the London based Decay Records, Pezzner returns with an arsenal of exclusive tracks from the Decay artists vaults – and has carefully curated a 68 minute mix that glides from hypnotic soundscapes to organic yet-lofty percussive tracks with his signature dub-leaning vibes.
Opening the mix is the twisted soundscape within Floyd Lavine’s ‘Half Pint Frankie Jackson’, which Pezzner utilises to carefully throw the listener off balance, before subtly upping the ante with the deep and stripped back grooves of Label head Davide Zeta with Frank Storm. The mix continues to ebb and flow into further expanses, enlisting the help of Tijn’s crafty acid licks in ‘303 Tool’, Pezzner forever builds tension whilst flowing simultaneously through a range of mesmerising house and techno. The full dubbed out vibes of Martin Aquino and Ingrid Borderline then fuse together to close out the mix in a similar hypnotic form as it came in.

Three Years Of Decay Mixed By Pezzner drops 19th May on Decay.

After the NCG EP and Surrender / Castles in the Air as his ongoing successes for the label in 2016, Kennedy is back with a 3-track EP for Token 74.
 
Tornado is vast and cinematic. A thundering kick becomes ripe with swelling strings followed by a bright, wistful lead and long, suspenseful breaks that take the track to filmic levels of poignancy. Glacier is more measured in its expression, with icy keys playing out a restrained sentimentality over a serene, earthy groove. Voyager is energetic; crisp and crunchy percussion melds into an ever-moving melody that wavers in and out of the foreground.

His latest lands on Loco Dice's beloved Desolat, in the form of a four-track EP cheekily titled 'Hanzz Sup'. ​Mixmag​ grabs the first listen of 'Hypnotised', a fast-paced and high-energy tune that taps into popping percussive patterns and tugs in influences from wild, jungle motifs.

The EP is out on Desolat on vinyl May 22 and digitally on June 2.

Steve Bug and Cle go way back. As friends, dj colleagues, co-producers and label mates the pair have enjoyed a close bond for nearly twenty years. Their Rejected debut sees them stepping back into the studio once again to create a brand new brace of acid-tinged club cuts that whilst looking to past, are focussed firmly on the future.

Both ’Together’ and ’That’s Right’ are a celebration of the pair’s musical partnership, with roots planted way back in the early nineties, when the ecstasy fuelled dancefloor hysteria would be stoked by hypnotic, minimal arrangements that worked subtle variations of loops and fx for maxium roof-raising effect. Abrupt frequencies, massive breaks and big bass drops may be the fashion of today, but back in those heady, electric and exciting times it was the gentle growth and delicate expansion of a track that really brought the goosebumps.

Steve & Cle have sought to deliver these same sensations with an excitement that steadily grows over the duration of the tracks through expert filter fiddling and unpredictable changes in structure.

Next up on Truesoul we welcome Danny Serrano & Rehmark, who debut on the label with ‘Interlurder State’. Between them the Spanish duo have already released music on Suara, Viva Music, Terminal M and Elevate; It’s quite clear that both of their careers are in the ascendant and we are delighted to showcase their music.

The release kicks off with ‘Second State’, which ramps into top gear from the start, with its groove-heavy beats and intuitive percussive components working in perfect unison. ‘Interlurder’ is more of a low-slung roller with thumping drums and is certainly geared towards the underground heads.  Both tracks highlight the pairs skillful production ability – Expect to hear these tracks a lot more this summer!
