This music (Music Africana) is a cry for uhuru (freedom) against the grip of poor governance. It speaks for ndugu zetu (our brothers and sisters) whose liberty is stifled by selfish leaders. Je kuhusu (what about?) their struggles? These sounds challenge the status quo, questioning kuhusu uhuru (the reality of freedom) when corruption reigns. This is a soundtrack for liberation, echoing the yearning of kuhusu ndugu zetu (about our people) for true freedom and justice. Feel the urgency, hear the call for change! A few of the terms in the lyrics was done in swahilii. Now I don't personally believe I'm in the same league as #Bowie, other than my lyrics, more often than not, making more sense, but I do think I share his ability to adapt to different genres, and his endless, diverse, creativity, just not quite on the same level.
