Arcane Moon is an originals indie rock band from Essex, UK who came together in March 2024.
 
Influenced by bands like REM, Radiohead, and The Police, Arcane Moon combines soulful melodies with a driving groove. Following a series of festival gigs in the summer of 2024, the guys released their debut single 'Three Little Words' in September 2024, which was played over 1,500 times on radio stations around the world. The second single 'Echoes' followed, and their debut EP 'Ellipsis' was released in November 2024.  
 
The guys will be releasing their debut album 'The Hour Glass' in Autumn 2025, with a series of singles over the summer, Lumens and Utopian have already been released, and Sunday Gravy is the third teaser.
 
The launch of Lumens coincided with Arcane Moon playing alongside three iconic bands - Reef, The Feeling, Dodgy at the 8DayWeekend festival in Saffron Walden, Essex.  Arcane Moon will be playing at Hop & Hazlewood in Manchester on October 4th, the O2 Academy in Islington, London on November 29th and at Three Wise Monkeys, Colchester on Saturday Jan 10th, 2026.
 
Arcane Moon are Josh (Guitar / Vocals), Matt (Drums), Joe (Bass) and Scott (Keyboards / Vocals). Josh and Matt met through a prior band and started writing together in May 2023.
 
With quite different but complimentary musical backgrounds, the guys immediately formed a strong creative collaboration. With a handful of songs written, the guys set up building the rest of the band. Joe (Bass) joined in January 2024 and Scott (Keyboards / Vocals) joined in March 2024. Arcane Moon's sell out debut gig was in July 2024.

Paul and Steven Herron, being actual brothers, have played and sang together for a lifetime. Hailing from the most north eastern borders of England but now based in Derby, they are living proof of the old but rubbish adage, “Sharing the bath water results in musical osmosis”.
 
After 4 or 5 albums (depending on which brother you ask), several E.P.s and some Christmas singles. The duo continues to develop their pairing of melancholy subject matter with unashamedly jangly, harmony laden pop.
 
Broadly, The Herron Brothers take their influences from pop music released between the 50s and now (The Everly’s, Michael Jackson, Mark Knopfler, The Strokes, The Beatles) but absolute favourites who have guided their song writing/performing journey the most are Paul Simon, Neil Finn and REM. 
 
This new single follows July’s “This Machine”, which was a standalone single that became their most successful to date, garnering thousands of plays on over 200 radio stations around the world.
 
Chris Straw, legendary radio producer, described This Machine as "brilliant track, packed with classic influences but still sounding totally in tune with the times."
 
“Shut Up” is the first track from “The Cool Boys”, the tongue firmly in cheek titled 5 song EP due for full release at the end of November.
 
 
About the song:
 
“Shut up was an idea I was working on instrumentally, really influenced by the sounds of Teenage Fanclub and a bit of Super Furry Animals. It had the working title of “Word Up” before Paul wrote the lyrics”  - Steven
 
Paul - “After we’d whittled down all the ideas into our five favourites, Steven gave me the track with the basic melody he’d sung over it, and because I loved it so much, I found the lyrics really easy to write and sing. 

The first half of the song is a reflection on the promises and rhetoric of people in powerful positions, which, after years of listening, you start to hear repeated, because they’re largely just platitudes and wish-lists rather than things they’re going to achieve, so, after a while, we all reach the point where we sing the chorus “Shut Up, we are not listening anymore”.

The SECOND half of the song is where I turn on myself, and the “Shut up” is directed at me for going on about politicians in so many of my conversations, when a lot of people just don’t want to talk about that type of thing, or global warming, or any other things that actually affect us all drastically……

That’s where the line “I’m boring me again" comes from.

Obsession

My Everest are an all girl pop/rock band based in Finchampstead. Formed in 2011, the four-piece began trading, re-working and improving upon each other’s past material in preparation for the local live scene. In their first year together they created a local buzz with their live performances around Berkshire and neighboring Hampshire. They then went on to record their first EP, ‘Filthy Little Secrets’, the title being taken from the EP’s punky lead track. They also managed to catch the attention of guitarist Vicki Peterson of ‘The Bangles’ who operate in a similar all female rock band niche. 

After seeing them play live, producer John Mitchell (You Me At Six, Enter Shikari, McFly) invited the band into the studio to record two tracks. ‘Cut & Crop’ and ‘Playing Us Like Chess’ were both recorded at Outhouse Studios in Reading, mixed by John and are set for release in early 2013. The tracks will both be available as a free download from the band’s own website upon release. The lead single, ‘Cut and Crop’, will be the subject of the band’s first official music video and will act as a promotional video for a project they are doing in conjunction with the charity ITV Fixers.
