আমাদের পৃথিবী প্রতিদিন উষ্ণ থেকে উষ্ণতর হয়ে উঠছে। 
আর আমরা শীঘ্রই মঙ্গলগ্রহে পালানোর কল্পনা করছি। 
‘মঙ্গলগ্রহে  পালানোর মিশন মার্স’  দ্বারা প্রতারিত হবেন না!
আসুন আমাদের এই বাস্তব পৃথিবীতে ফিরে আসি!
আমরা এই পৃথিবী কে কিভাবে শান্তিপূর্ণ আর বসবাসের উপযোগী করবো তাই ভেবে দেখি।

Motivation কিংবা প্রেরণা, 
Action কিংবা কাজ, 
Reflection কিংবা প্রতিফলন, এবং Sustainability কিংবা দীর্ঘ স্থায়িত্ব।   

এই পডকাস্টে আমরা সবাইকে ৪ টি প্রশ্ন করবো,

প্রথমত, কে অথবা কোন ঘটনা আপনাকে কাজের ক্ষেত্রে সবচেয়ে বেশি উৎসাহ দেয়?
দ্বিতীয়ত, আপনার এই উৎসাহ কিভাবে আপনাকে সামনে এগিয়ে যেতে সাহায্য করে?  
তৃতীয়ত, আপনার কাজের অভিজ্ঞতা থেকে আপনি ও আমরা কি শিখতে পারি? 
সব শেষে, আমাদের এই অস্থির পৃথিবীকে শান্ত আর নিরাপদ রাখার জন্য আমাদের কি করা উচিত? আর আপনার নিজের মঙ্গল মন্ত্র কি? 
এই প্রশ্নগুলো আমরা শ্রোতাদের এবং পৃথিবীর বিভিন্ন দেশের মানুষকে করবো যারা দুর্যোগ ও উন্নয়নের সাথে জড়িত। 

আমার মঙ্গল মন্ত্র পডকাস্টটি টি একটি পাঁচ পর্বের সিরিজ। 

প্রথম পর্বে আমরা  দুর্যোগের গল্প শুনবো। 
এখানে আমরা এমন কিছু মানুষের সাথে কথা বলবো, যারা পেশাগত ভাবে দুর্যোগ নিয়ে কাজ করছেন। 
আর  জানবো, যে এসব দুর্যোগের মূল কারণ কি?

দ্বিতীয় পর্বটি আরো জটিল! 
এই পর্বে আমরা প্রতিদিনের দুর্যোগ, যা আমাদের মানুষেরই তৈরী, তাই নিয়ে আলাপ করবো। যুদ্ধ বিধ্বস্ত মানুষ কিভাবে শুদু মাত্র তাদের দৃঢ় ইচ্ছাশক্তির কারণে এগিয়ে যায়, আমরা সেই গল্প শুনবো। 

তৃতীয় পর্বে, আমরা উন্নয়নের গল্প শুনবো। 
যে সব দেশকে আমরা উন্নত মনে করি,সেখানে কি হচ্ছে আর অন্যান্য উন্নয়নশীল দেশে কি হচ্ছে তাই ঘুরে দেখবো।

এরপর আমরা একটু বিরতি নিবো। 
আমরা চাইবো আপনারা এসব বিষয় নিয়ে ভেবে দেখবেন, আর আপনার নিজের মঙ্গল মন্ত্র খুঁজে পাবেন।  

চতুর্থ পর্বে, আমরা বাংলাদেশের গল্প শুনবো, যেখানে দুর্যোগ এবং উন্নয়ন একই সুতোয় গাঁথা। যেখানে সংকট, ভোগবাদ, দুর্নীতি এবং জলবায়ু পরিবর্তন আমাদের তথাকিত উন্নয়ন পরিকল্পনার অংশ।
আমরা বাংলাদেশ থেকে কি শিক্ষা নিবো? যা বিশ্ব ব্যাপী সবাইকে জানাতে পারি?

সবশেষে আমরা আমাদের নিজেদের মঙ্গল মন্ত্র আর আমাদের পৃথিবীর জন্য মঙ্গল কামনা করে এই পডকাস্ট শেষ করবো।

Ian Davis looks back at his 50-year-long career in the field of disaster risk reduction and recovery. Ian shares his childhood experience of World War 2, volunteering during his youth, to help his friends support the 70’s cyclone-affected people in Bangladesh (then East Pakistan). Ian moved from architecture to academia and then advised governments worldwide on disaster risk reduction & recovery. Ian also shares inner resilience or MARS mantra by listening to people, praying, painting & writing.

E1. 50 years of disasters as agents of change_Ian Davis with Rumana Kabir

Arwin Solaksono, shares his story of rebuilding Aceh, in Indonesia which was devastated by the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami. This tsunami affected 14 countries and killed 240,000 people, mostly Indonesians.  When he was invited by an aid agency to advise them in rebuilding Aceh, he was moved by the emptiness caused by the Tsunami. This changed Arwin’s career from an Engineer to a Shelter & Settlement Practitioner, now working Worldwide. Tsunami also brought a big change in the lives of people in Aceh who were living with conflict for over 29 years. It brought peace to the region as well and many aid agencies’ arrival impacted the culture, economy, and environment. Arwin shares his insights as an outsider in Aceh; as an Indonesian building their own expertise to tackle one disaster after another; and as an international advisor supporting rebuilding after the earthquakes in Nepal and Türkiye. E3.Changes from an Indonesian disaster island to the rest of the world_Arwin Soelakson, Rumana Kabir

Stephen discussed with Rumana the status of modern warfare that is silently destroying many lives all over the world. Stephen is curious to find out about international events which go unnoticed by the mainstream media. He is passionate about examining the ways in which people are denied their human rights during times of conflict. In the podcast, he also shares his research on the social effects of drone warfare, including the emotional impacts on drone pilots. He emphasises the importance of holding people in power to account and finding job satisfaction by digging deep into conflict-related issues.

E4. Breaking the silence on invisible wars_Stephen Pine with Rumana Kabir

Ines Smyth, is a gender & women's rights and climate activist. She grew up in a working-class family in Italy and had a desire to see the world. She recalls her time in Indonesia. Ines also highlights the need for a comprehensive understanding of intersectionality in addressing inequalities. She shares stories of working with marginalized communities in Asia. and explains why women died of Tsunami due to lack of swimming skills and gender roles. Ines also shares her stories on climate activism.

E5. Changing our hearts and minds on feminism and climate activism_Ines Smyth with Rumana Kabir

Rumana Kabir starts My MARS mantra podcast to spread stories from changemakers she has met throughout her career in disasters and development. She was inspired by the authors of 'Story Listening project' and wanted to create a platform for people to listen to each other's stories from around the world. Her journey began in Bangladesh, where she witnessed the disparities between her own privileged life and the lives of street children. Rumana became interested in disaster risk management after hearing her grandfather's story of the 1970s cyclone. During her diverse professional career, as an architect, aid worker, international development consultant; and now as a civil servant and academic, she feels that the root causes of problems are often personal, cultural and systemic; not just technical solution can solve all the problems of this world. The solutions should focus on policies grounded from people's insights. Rumana shared 'Battling the Storm' by Architect Bashirul Haq, and her own work, 'Post-Cyclone Sidr Family Shelter Construction in Bangladesh Documentation of Plans and Processes' as important pieces of work, where peoples' insights on resilient housing solutions are highlighted. E6. Stories from Dhaka, Dallas and Disasters_Rumana Kabir with Stephen Pine

Farah Kabir is an activist from Bangladesh and has led the world development stage to amplify voices against injustice. In this episode, Farah Kabir highlights the root causes of disasters worldwide, from a human rights perspective. She also celebrates the achievements made in Bangladesh, such as creating dignified lives for street children, and acid survivors; and rebuilding resilient homes by bringing in the local government, and the professionals to address the on-ground needs of people. Farah Kabir also points out how global injustice affects Bangladesh, showing us the links between climate displacements, fast fashion and consumerism, and how we are fighting against it. 
Finally, Farah Kabir, shows hope by presenting the vision that Bangladesh possesses, such as using renewable energy sources, establishing a climate trust fund, and many other visionary initiatives, that the world has much to learn from.

বিশ্বের বুকে বাংলাদেশের কন্ঠস্বরঃ
ফারাহ কবির হলেন বাংলাদেশের একজন লড়াকু উন্নয়ন কর্মী যিনি বাংলাদেশের হয়ে বিশ্বে ঘটে যাওয়া বিভিন্ন অন্যায়ের বিরুদ্ধে কথা বলেন। আমাদের পডকাস্টটির এই পর্বে তিনি দূর্যোগ ঘটে যাওয়ার মূল কারণ গুলো ব্যাখ্যা করেন একজন মানুষের অধিকারের দৃষ্টিকোণ থেকে।
এছাড়াও তিনি পরিবর্তন হতে সৃষ্টি হওয়া সুন্দর গল্পগুলো উদযাপনও করেন। যেমন: পথশিশুদের পড়াশোনায় সাফল্যে কিংবা এসিড দগ্ধ হয়েও উঠে এসে সাফল্য পাওয়া কোন তরূণীর আনন্দে আনন্দিত হন তিনি। এবং এসব পথশিশু ও তরুণীদের জন্য বাংলাদেশ সরকারের হস্তক্ষেপে তাদের পুনঃর্বাসনের ব্যবস্থাও করেন তিনি।

ফারাহ কবির এটাও উল্লেখ করেন কিভাবে বৈশ্বিক অন্যায়ের কারণে ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত হচ্ছে বাংলাদেশ। এরজন্য জলবায়ু পরিবর্তন ও পরিকল্পনাবিহীন কাঠামোগত উন্নয়নকে দায়ী করেন, এবং এটাও উল্লেখ করেন কিভাবে আমরা প্রতিনিয়ত এই দূর্যোগের সাথে যুদ্ধ করে যাচ্ছি।

সবশেষে ফারাহ কবির বাংলাদেশে চলমান বিভিন্ন উন্নয়নমূলক কাজের উদাহরণ দিয়ে আশা ব্যক্ত করেন। নবায়নযোগ্য শক্তির সুন্দর ব্যবহার ও জলবায়ু উন্নয়নের লক্ষ্যে তৈরী করা Climate Trust Fund এর কথা উল্লেখ করে তিনি বলেন যে এই কাজগুলো থেকে বিশ্বের ও অনেক কিছু শেখার আছে আমাদের কাছ থেকে।

Jordan Oster works for the Massachusetts Emergency Management Authority (MEMA). He shares his stories of dealing with day-to-day disasters and how it feels to help people in times of distress. Jordan is concerned that the intensity of climate-induced disasters is increasing all over the United States of America (USA), from heavy snowfall in California, and ice storms in Texas to an increased number of intense floods and storms in Massachusetts.

এপিসোড ৯ বিজয় দিবসের বোনাস - জাফর আলমের মুক্তিযুদ্ধের স্মৃতি আর দেশসেবার গল্প:

জাফর আলম বর্তমানে বাংলাদেশের একজন বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় অধ্যাপক এবং প্রাক্তন সিভিল সার্ভিস কর্মকর্তা। বাংলাদেশের স্বাধীনতা যুদ্ধের স্মৃতি আর তা থেকে উৎসরিত দেশপ্রেম তাকে উদ্ভুদ্ধ করে সরকারের হয়ে কাজ করার জন্য। এরপর আর কখনো থেমে থাকেন নি তিনি।

দেশসেবার মানসিকতা থেকেই বিভিন্ন পদে কাজ করতে হয়েছিল তাকে, যার মধ্যে তৃণমূল পর্যায়ের ভূমিহীন মানুষ ও অটিজমদের নিয়ে কাজ বিশেষভাবে উল্লেখযোগ্য। 

বাংলাদেশ সরকারের সহায়তায় তিনি “চর উন্নয়ন ও বসতি স্থাপন প্রকল্প” নামে একটি প্রকল্পে কাজ করেন, যার মাধ্যমে তিনি অসংখ্য ভূমিহীন মানুষকে কৃষিজমি ও পুকুর প্রদানের মাধ্যমে কর্মসংস্থানের সুব্যবস্থা করেন। এরই ধারিবাহিকতায় তিনি ভূমিকা রাখেন সেইসব ভূমিতে বন্যা নিয়ন্ত্রণ ও রাস্তাঘাট বিনির্মানে। এছাড়াও লিঙ্গ বৈষম্য দূরীকরণে এবং নারী অধিকার বাস্তবায়নের লক্ষ্যে তিনি স্বামী স্ত্রী দুইজনকে ভূমির মালিক করার উদ্যোগ গ্রহণ করেন।

কোভিড-১৯ বা করোনা চলাকালীন সময়ে তিনি চট্টগ্রাম বন্দরে কাজ করেন৷ বন্দরের কাজকে চলমান রাখতে  এবং বন্দর কর্মীদের সুরক্ষার জন্য তার নেতৃত্বেই সেই সময়ে বন্দরের অভ্যন্তরেই হাসপাতালের একটি অংশকে কোভিড সেন্টার হিসেবে চালু করা হয়। 
এছাড়াও চট্টগ্রামে অটিজম ভিত্তিক সেবা চালুকরণে তিনি অগ্রগামী ভূমিকা রাখেন। অটিজম সচেতনতা বৃদ্ধিকরণে প্রধানমন্ত্রীর অনুমোদনক্রমে বর্তমানে তার নেতৃত্বে আরো বেশ কয়েকটি সংস্থা সহ চট্টগ্রামে একটি নয় তলা ভবন নির্মানাধীন রয়েছে। যা ভবিষ্যত সময়ে দেশের উন্নয়নে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকা রাখবে বলে আশা করা যায়।

জাকির হোসান বাংলাদেশের একটি তৃণমূল সংস্থা "কৃষকের স্বরের" সভাপতি। 
ছোটবেলা থেকে বরিশালের ছোট্ট এক গ্রামে শিমুলভাঙা নামের এক নদীর পাড়ে  প্রকৃতির ভেতর দিয়ে বড় হওয়া একজন মানুষ  যেন নিজের পুরোটা জীবন কাটিয়ে দিলেন সেই প্রকৃতির ভেতরেই। প্রকৃতি আর কৃষির জন্য অগাধ ভালোবাসা থেকেই তিনি কৃষক ও কৃষির জন্য কাজ করা শুরু করেন। আর সেই কাজের কান্ডারি হিসেবে তিনি বেছে নেন স্কুলের ছাত্র ছাত্রীদের। দূর্যোগের সময় দ্রুত আশ্রয়কেন্দ্রে পৌঁছানোর জন্য ব্রিজ তৈরী করা থেকে শুরু করে সিডরে ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত হওয়া গাছপালা রক্ষা করার মত অতি সাধারণ দেখতে লাগা অসাধারণ কাজগুলো করেছেন নিজের মনের অসীম আনন্দ নিয়ে। মূলত কৃষি ব্যবস্থার উন্নয়ন আর পরিবেশ উন্নয়ন ই ছিল তার মূলমন্ত্র। এরই পথ ধরে তিনি দীর্ঘস্থায়ী কৃষি উন্নয়নের জন্য বিভিন্ন বৈশ্বিক নেতাদের সাথে যোগাযোগ করেন যাতে করে তিনি জাতীয় কৃষিক্ষেত্রেও অবদান রাখতে পারেন। এই পর্বে আমরা পরিবেশ উন্নয়নে জাতীয় ও আন্তর্জাতিক দাতা সংস্থাগুলোর নীতিগুলো নিয়েও কিছুটা সহজ ধারণা পাবো।

Sudan has over two decades long history of conflict. Recently 5.5 million people are displaced within and outside to neghbouring countries, as the conflict continues. There is not enough international funding for basic relief supplies like food, shelter and jobs for these displaced people. Sudan has not been in the global news either. People like Godfrey Lokuju, a former Civil Servant from Sudan and now a Humanitarian Affairs Officer for the United Nations, is voicing on behalf of the forgotten 5.5 million people for giving them the attention that they deserve.
