Long time Moon Harbour family man Re.You links up with percussionist, drummer, DJ and producer Robert Jankovic for a stunning new single 'Push Me' which really rolls deep. Re.You has been contributing to the evolution of house music for more than 10 years now. A year ago he served up 'Maison', his fantastic album on Connected, and late in 2020 the man born Marius Maier released his latest steamy single 'The Night We Met' on this label. He is
an artist who continually tweaks his sound with each new outing on labels like Kompakt and Mobilee, and does so again here with Jankovic. The fellow German does everything from drifting percussive beats to more gritty tech and everything in between. The sublime 'Push Me' finds the pair laying down pinging kick drums with well swung, dry hits up top. That combo immediately gets you in the groove, and the majestic synth leads add a sense of subtle spirituality. As they lock you deeper into this most atmospheric and mysterious of tracks, distant vocal calls drift by to bring more exotic flavours. There is plenty of rich musicality in 'Push Me' which will always stand it out in any set.

A key figure in the electronic dance scene in Cologne, Germany, David Hasert cues up a new release for BLOND:ISH’s ABRACADABRA label, and invites some close friends to collaborate with on the opulent ‘The Sky Is Crying’ single.  With previous releases for Dantze, Katermukke and the Like Records label, Hasert shapes an emotionally uplifting modern day classic, that includes a remix from Niconé.

“After working in many studio rooms without a view, I decided that I would no longer be producing music without a window in front of me.  There's a lot of things that inspire me, like movies, old records and especially just looking up at the sky.  We had a big flood here in Germany and it rained for days.  One day I decided to record the sounds of the thunder and the rain on my window.  My friend Francesco Mami, whom I met years ago at Burning Man, was there, and played some melodies on the piano, and from then on, the idea behind "The Sky Is Crying” grew. The lyrics are inspired by a Gary Coleman classic blues track.

For “Home”, I collaborated for the first time with my good friend Esther Silex.  Usually I mostly work alone, or with Frankie who is helping me shape my sound, but in this case Esther and myself decided to start a track from scratch.  I like the way the track flows and that it’s untypically not just working towards a drop or ‘a moment’. It just flows and flows…

GBrown - Believe by Two Hemispheres EP // Suffused Music [SMD193]

The 193rd release on Suffused Music finds the label showcasing new interpretations of GBrown's 'Believe by Two Hemispheres'. Originally released in August of 2016 as part of the 'Open' EP it found the US artist exploring deep atmospheric themes backed by a chugging, floor friendly groove. The track quickly became a standout in his discography and now Suffused Music calls upon A-Jay, Bobby Deep and Volkan Erman to reinterpret the track.

The first interpretation is provided by A-Jay who is making his second appearance on Suffused Music. The Sri Lankan artist is much loved for his unique blend of house, techno and progressive, making him one of his regions most well known talents. Here he brings this approach to 'Believe by Two Hemispheres' taking the track into mystical territory. Tough beats, clanky percussion and rugged rhythms carve out a solid framework as the first act takes shape. A cross-cultural vocal lifts the vibe higher, particularity during an expansive break, ultimately setting up a spiritual finale.

The second interpretation of 'Believe by Two Hemispheres' is provided by Bobby Deep who is returning to the label for his fifth appearance. The Greek artist last appeared on the Lithuanian imprint in January of 2017 with his 'Space Hunter' single. As a 25 year veteran of the progressive house scene Bobby has also appeared on Movement Recordings and Bonzai Records. Well known for his diversity Bobby is adept at crafting everything from deep, late night house to peak time progressive. On his 'Believe by Two Hemispheres' interpretation he opts for the former with a laid back, atmospheric version that sits as one of his career best remixes. The vocal narrative is stunning, reaching your darkest memories and conjuring a mystical vibe in the process, all while the dubby framework pushes forward with an effortless flow. 

The third and final interpretation of 'Believe by Two Hemispheres' is provided by Volkan Erman who is making his third appearance on the label. The Turkish born, Italy based artist last appeared on the Lithuanian imprint in January of 2017 with his 'Labyrinth' EP. Now following releases on Stellar Fountain's Astrowave and Massive Harmony Records Volkan returns to Suffused Music for his most anticipated remix production of the year. Closing the release out in style, the Turkish artist brings a dark, sinister vibe to the piece with tough beats, grinding grooves and spooky electronics, all blanketed by an expansive vocal narrative which ultimately seals it's brilliance.

My Other Side of the Moon's November release is a very special one. The original mix is a synthesis of these qualities, coming from the hands, minds and hearts of Davide Ferrario and Dalai, bright musicians. Second, it is special because it summoned all our favorite artists from My Other Side of the Moon and beyond. The afro-king Enoo Napa happily offered us an energetic pure afro-house interpretation you would want to hear in every club you step into. Rhythm "a la Enoo Napa"  is dominant, while the harmony builds up and the break takes the breath away. While the inconfundible voice of Dalai is a constant, Neil Amarey and Breeze and The Sun's remix give Desert their passionate touch, with some delightful guitar melodies and a light afro flair. Last, but not least, Breeze and The Sun and Mike Dem experiment together a deep melodic darker version, a blast of energy with a touching break where choirs and strings develop together to merge into an elegant and powerful ending.
