About Lisa Sturtevant

Dr. Lisa Sturtevant is an economist/economic advisor with a focus on housing markets. She is based in the Washington D.C. metro area.

In 2006, Sturtevant earned her Ph.D. in Public Policy/Regional Economic Development from George Mason University. Beforehand, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Mathematical Economics from Wake Forest University in 1994 and a Master’s in Public Policy from the University of Maryland in 2000.

Sturtevant continued in academia for a time, working in positions ranging from a Research Professor at George Mason from 2006 - 2013 to a Senior Visiting Fellow at the Urban Land Institute’s Terwilliger Center for Housing from 2016 - 2019.

In 2016, she entered the private sector and founded LSA Planning, which partners with communities to assess and promote local housing development. She served as LSA’s president until 2020 and currently works as a company advisor. She then served as chief economist of Virginia REALTORS® from 2020 - 2022 and is currently chief economist for Bright MLS.

Kymber Lovett-Menkiti first set out to be a social worker, holding a BA from James Madison University and a Masters from Bryn Mawr College in that field. After finishing her education in 2004 and working as a high school counselor, she entered real estate in 2007, joining her husband who had opened the first Keller Williams in Washington, D.C. three years prior.

She currently serves as both president of Keller Williams Capital Properties and regional director of the Maryland/DC area for the national Keller Williams brand. The first black woman to hold the role, she oversees 4,500-plus agents throughout the region. An advocate for women taking on leadership roles in the industry, she will also serve as the 2023 Broker Relations Liaison for the National Association of REALTORSⓇ.

An economist specializing in real estate market analysis, Matthew Gardner has 28 years of experience in the US and UK. First retained as an economist at Windermere in 2000, he was promoted to chief economist in 2015. On top of his professional duties, he sits on the Washington State Governor's Council of Economic Advisors. He is also active in academia at the University of Washington, where he serves as a lecturer, chairs the Board of Trustees at the Washington Center for Real Estate Research, and is an Advisory Board Member at the Runstad Center for Real Estate Studies.

It's not just students who enjoy Gardner's analysis. He is one of the economists who provide data for Zillow and Reuters' respective home price surveys. He also writes quarterly market reports and produces monthly videos on his social media for professionals and consumers to enjoy. 

He holds an undergraduate degree in Economics from Oxford University and a graduate degree in Econometrics from the London School of Economics. He lives in Windermere's hometown of Seattle, Washington.

Ward Morrision joined RE/MAX World Headquarters in 2005 as a business development consultant for brokerage operations and has held several leadership roles as he has rapidly moved up through the company. In 2008, he was named director, Membership Services and Contract Administration and was promoted to vice president, Membership Services, Contract Administration and Customer Relations a year later. In 2011, he was named vice president, U.S. Regional Development, and in 2012 became region vice president of the RE/MAX Southwest Region. 

Ward's role expanded in February 2015, as he became the primary liaison between RE/MAX World Headquarters and all independently owned U.S. Regions. In September 2016, Ward joined Motto Franchising, LLC as its first president and was instrumental in launching the Motto Mortgage brokerage franchise brand the following month. 

Since launching in 2016 as the country’s first national mortgage brokerage franchise, Motto Mortgage has steadily gained traction and visibility in the real estate industry. Morrison drives the strategy and overall business plan at Motto Franchising, LLC and wemlo. He’s responsible for growing the Motto Mortgage network and helping franchisees maximize their success through the system.

In 2020, Ward oversaw the acquisition of wemlo, a mortgage fintech company focused on providing technology and third-party mortgage processing solutions to the mortgage broker channel. Now serving as president and CEO of both Motto Mortgage and wemlo, a position he was named to in January 2022, Ward leads the entire mortgage segment within RE/MAX Holdings.

Over the past 20 years, Israel has trained and coached thousands of real estate professionals. A community leader and homeownership advocate, Israel has instructed continuing education courses on diversity, career development and homeownership.

Israel is co-founder and owner of Refocus University, a real estate training firm that’s focused on career development and diversity. She also serves as a managing partner of The Signature Group at Keller Williams Realty Integrity Lakes in Minneapolis.

Dan Weisman credits his career path with witnessing the construction of a 70-story building while visiting the windy city during his sophomore year of college. An alum of the University of Wisconsin, Madison, Weisman graduated in 2006 with a BS in Civil & Environmental Engineering and Economics. He then served as a project manager for local construction firms Tri-North Builders (2005 to 2009) and J.H. Findorff & Son Inc (2009 to 2014) while completing an MBA at his undergraduate alma mater from 2008 to 2011.
