I'm Sorry

Wandering eye is a poem I wrote a while ago and recently rediscovered. It seemed to fit tonally with the current state of the world, so i set it to music.
Written originally about my own experiences trying to start life only to feel beaten down. In the poem 
I tried to use melting silver down to a placid mirror as a metaphor for how to approach life, removing impurities through heat and agitation to become aligned with oneself, to become a mirror.
However, quite a bit of time has passed since I wrote the poem and A LOT has happened in the world and now, for me this song is about civil rights, and social justice. It is about condemning hatred and racism. It's about standing up for whats right and what matters. It's about helping people achieve dreams rather than telling them to "Pull themselves up by their bootstraps." I want the mirror of the song to reflect on those hurting and on those who don't reflect on what they do.
I realized that lyrics like "Cut your breath-in-a-tank" for me evoked images of George Floyd or Eric Garner gasping for air.
"Climb a mountain... Plummet. Drop." brought to mind the 1921 Tulsa Massacre and how a whole city was robbed of life wealth and joy in an instant.
"Scolded Orpheus for his wandering eye." In my mind immediately brings up pangs of sadness for Emmett Till.
I hope this song encourages people to keep fighting for a better life for everyone and an end to police brutality . Black Lives Matter.
