With Darondo’s sudden and unexpected passing last year, the world truly lost a singular and unique talent. “Didn’t I” was undoubtedly his most beloved and well-known song making the rounds in Soul collectors’ circles for some time and reaching a much wider audience with numerous placements on TV and movies including the iconic show “Breaking Bad.” Three producers from across the globe have paid him homage by adding their touches and flavor to the classic tune.

Straight from Berlin, two brand new party time edits from the modern master of breaks, Voodoocuts! This double A sider transforms classic soul and boogaloo cuts into club ready monsters.

Then comes the instant classic, hands in the air, sing along vocals. By the time the bassline drops, everybody in spot is grooving. DJs are going to need to cop doubles, this jam loves to be juggled.

On the flip, breaks meet Latin soul with “Voodoo’s Boogaloo”. The dancefloor stomper is elevated with funky drums and cut into all killer no filler. Multiple rhythms meld perfectly, so dancers can step to the Latin boogaloo, breakbeat, or steady 125bpm pulse which is felt even without a 4 on the 4 floor kick. With so many ways to dance Voodoo has delivered one of the most versatile boogaloos of all time.

This song is the result of a spontaneous session which happened in February 2017 in Sofia/Bulgaria at the recording studio of Koka Mass Jazz.. Starting from scratch and adding instrument by instrument 'Back To Vienna' turned fast into a hommage to the Vienna School sound of the early 2000s.
All recordings were done in one afternoon and some arranging and post-production later in March.
