El Búho returns to Wonderwheel with the first taste of his new collaborative album "Ramas," co-produced with some of his favorite artists, friends and family around the world. This first single "Nevar" is a collaboration with French artist Didacte, and features swirling, beautiful textures around a slowed down 4/4 beat, deep bass and chopped of vocals building into a late night dancefloor jam for the open-minded. "Because" is a song written by John Lennon (credited to Lennon–McCartney) and recorded by the English rock band the Beatles. It was released on their 1969 album Abbey Road.

According to Lennon, the song's close musical resemblance to the first movement of Ludwig van Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata was no coincidence: "Yoko was playing Beethoven's 'Moonlight Sonata' on the piano ... I said, 'Can you play those chords backwards?', and wrote 'Because' around them. The lyrics speak for themselves ... No imagery, no obscure references."

French duo Pandhora worked with an original acapella track and recreated the whole piece around the vocals with modern sounds. Extending the track with instrumental parts, they are giving a tribute to the original with an outdoor festival dance in mind.

About Jerry Spoon


Jerry Spoon grew up in cozy Bern, where he feels at home. He has been playing guitar passionately for many years, but only in his band at that time did he really feel free. He was responsible for the demo tapes and provided the right sound.
In 2007 he released his first self-produced album “S.I.W.T.” of his band “Things Never Exist. From 2011 - 2013 he released solo semi-acoustic albums. After over 10 Years of Rock and Pop music, he decided to start producing electronic music in 2014. He successfully completed his well-founded basic training as a multimedia electronics technician, where he not only immersed himself in circuits but also built up an event and event equipment rental company. He is the founder of the label “Brner Musig” (Music from Bern). His passion for music, people, and technology consequently led him to study sound engineering, which he successfully completed. After completing his studies, he expanded his self-taught knowledge in audio and recording technology to a professional level. As Jerry Spoon, he has been regularly releasing his Melodic House and Downtempo tracks on SoundCloud, Apple Music, Spotify and Co. since 2017. He has been producing in his own studio: “Studio Voisier” in Bern since 2019. Today he produces tracks with international musicians in his own studio and pursues his musical career as well as his studio projects.

Deep Forest originally sampled this lullaby from the Solomon Islands in 1992.

"Ramas" (branches in Spanish) is El Búho’s third album of original material and stands for a celebration of the art of collaboration. Featuring 19 collaborations with artists from 12 countries, the album was born organically out of collaborations, mutual appreciation or a desire to experiment and try something new. 

Some of the tracks were started in person, such as "Sky City", born out of a spaghetti-western jam in Thornato’s Queens studio or "Gaviota" inspired by the the seagulls of Brighton following a shared show with Rumbo Tumba in the city. Meanwhile others such as "Elefta" with Hungarian producer Stas or "Kuuma" a track made with Finnish multi-instrumentalist QOSQI were created over long-distance with the producers never actually meeting face to face. The album also contains tracks from long-term friends and collaborators like Chancha Via Circuito, Barda and Wonderwheel head-honcho Nickodemus. 

Musically the album references the blend of Latin American traditional music with original electronic music on tracks such as "Resiliencia" with legendary Chilean producer DJ Raff, an homage to the recent protest movement in Chile, or "Absolut," a track sculpted from an unfinished melodic idea by Argentine electro-folk trio Tremor. Meanwhile songs like "Nevar" and "Kif Kif Kuf Kuf" with Didacte and Kraut, both part of the Shika Shika collective, take El Búho’s sound in a new direction, embracing a more melodic or impactful and rhythmic electronica. 

At its heart of "Ramas" was Perkins’ desire to challenge himself creatively, forcing him to see his own ideas and production style from a different angle or see ideas started in one direction come back completely transformed by the collaborator. The result is at once surprising and diverse but El Búho’s signature sound and aesthetic is the thread that runs through all of the tracks, the trunk to each branch. 

Carrying on the spirit of collaboration, El Búho made an open call for collaborations with dancers & choreographers in his community. Overwhelmed by the response, the album is accompanied by 18 original choreographies by dancers and dance groups from 12 different countries, from Mexico to Taiwan, South Africa or the Galapagos Islands. Each chose the track that most inspired them and shot a video of their dance in a unique and beautiful natural location, in doing so creating yet more ramas or branches for the project.

Tribal Steps is inspired by conscious gatherings, ecstatic dance and community circles. It is compiled in ecstatic dance form, with different styles and tempos going from ambient to more rhythmic, peak, slowing and downtempo at the end. Mission is to inspire people to create a strong supporting community, to gather more like in tribal societies.
   The compilation is for "Name your price " and all the donations will go for building an open space hall, surrounded by nature and permaculture garden, where different activities will be held, like music sessions, ecstatic dance, fire gatherings, permaculture & aromatherapy workshops, education for children and retreats.

Shika Shika Collective is proud to present “De aquí hasta aquí”, the debut album by percussionist and producer Federico Estévez.

You may know Fede as the drummer and percussionist for Chancha Vía Circuito´s live band, having made a reputation around the world for his rhythmic virtuosity and trademark broken beats.

Following “Hologramas” the captivating opening track on Shika Shika’s “Mare Insularum” compilation, “De aquí hasta aquí” is Fede’s first full-length release. On it he shares with us his complex, poly-rhythmic universe through ten tracks uniting his own South American origins, with African rhythms and featuring collaborations with Rodrigo Gallardo, Pablo Paz, Wen, Manu Quintans, Klik & Frik and Chancha vía Circuito.
