San Francisco rapper Furious Stylez was almost done with Hip-Hop before he even started. Hip-Hop had gone from “please listen to my demo” to “Ouch I got punched on the internet and now I’m a famous rapper” and he was in total disgust. Before this he had been using traditional methods of Hip-Hop producing local mix-tapes and hoping to catch a buzz in the Bay Area independent market working with legendary producers like JT The Bigga Figga, Cozmo and Tone Capone. He lucked up when his long time mentor and family friend Martin Luther McCoy replaced a original member of The Roots and Black Thought placed Stylez in a group with his long time protégé Makk Dubb “The Perfect Strangers”. Long story short it went nowhere and Stylez found himself in Houston during the Swisha House Movement assisting JT The Bigga Figga with a possible Rap-a-Lot West deal. Again the deal just didn’t work out and Stylez found himself back and the drawing board but this time he wasn’t alone. With funds depleted he roomed up with his cousins, Now Roc-Nation song writer J-Angel and MTV’s Making The Band 4 rising star Brian Angel of Day 26 but back then the were just Joseph and Brian. As time went on the three vowed to each other that if one of them makes it, they would reach back for the other and that’s exactly what Brian did. Though Stylez wasn’t getting paid for his talents he was paid to act as a road manger for the Bad Boy Group Day 26 and worked very close with manager Screwface. This is where his love for the game began to fade. The music industry just didn’t seem real anymore and he wanted out. He tried utilizing his celebrity contacts that he made in the business to promote night clubs but that shoe just didn’t fit. Dumbfounded Furious caught himself watching a video online of anonymous rapper and he thought “enough is enough, I know I can do this better”. Realizing the game was no longer “climb up the totem pole” Stylez reactivated he social media accounts recorded a couple tracks and hit the road passing out flyers for his upcoming EP which wasn’t even finished when he found himself in Denver taking a toke with OPM security “Hambone”, who took a liking to Stylez and Introduced him to fellow California natives Dom Kennedy, Skeme and tour manager Wayne Carter who without hesitation asked Furious to open for Skeme and Dom for the remainder of Dom Kennedy’s Get Home Safely in February 2014 . Gearing up for his November release Furious Stylez explains the quite fitting tittle to His forthcoming EP “Expect Delays”. “I finally got”, it says the 30 year old seasoned rookie. “I just realized that no matter what you do or how bad you want things to happen, Things only happen when god see’s fit. So you should just work hard at your craft and let god do the rest”.
