Witchtape #56 | Guest Wizz : Cedd FUZE

(Story continued from Witchtape #54)

After admiring the glorious sunrise from their vantage point near the top of the volcano, the witch and wizard decided to take off and fly towards the sun.  The European girl (who had never left her continent before) had never seen such a huge forest in her whole life.  Despite all the destruction by humans near the edge of the rain forest, there were luckily still plenty of trees left to reverse the tide.  At first, the mood was pleasant and joyful, with the nimble little witch once again making some loopings and corkscrews in the air (witches are frequent flyers) while the giant wizard (who hadn’t flown in nearly a century) was still having trouble to stay on course.  After a few hours, the African wizard became very excited as he knew that they were nearing his home ground… the village where he was born and raised… the destination of their epic trip to the heart of Africa, where he would introduce his future wife to his relatives.  And there it was… in the distance they saw a large clearing in the middle of the dense forest… a place which had never been discovered by the white people in the colonial days and even remained undiscovered during the post-colonial times… the home village of the wizard.
But all of a sudden the witch got cold feet.  The idea of meeting such a great number of people was just too much for the shy girl, who had gotten used to the solitary witch’s life.  So she told the wizard that she was going to land in the rain forest somewhere near the edge of the clearing, while the wizard would prepare his parents for her arrival.  And so, witch and wizard split up and soon the girl dived into the canopy and touched down gracefully on the branch of a majestic centuries-old hardwood tree.  Only after landing, she realized she had ended up in the middle of a large group of monkeys, who looked at her with amazement.  They had never seen a white girl (and surely not one with such bright green eyes) and they all kept on staring at the intruder.  But soon, the elder monkey realized that she was a witch and not a human, which meant they had nothing to fear from her.  In fact, the presence of the exotic little witch had an irresistible effect on the young monkeys, who soon started playing with the girl (especially enjoying her incredibly soft brown hair).  This playful encounter was suddenly interrupted by a fierce thundershower, which made all the animals (and the witch) scramble to find a relatively dry place.  But to no avail, and soon the girl was soaking wet to the bone, but she didn’t mind… she even enjoyed the warm rain and after climbing down the tree, she started performing a gracious rain dance, in which she was soon followed by the monkeys and a lot of other small animals.  Actually, these were the first rains after the dry season, and the witch felt the powerful energy of the forest coming back to life… the start of a new cycle…

Dieses Home-Office, das wollten wir jetzt ausprobieren und euch einen Podcast auf die Laptopscheibe schmieren! Zehn Mal bimmelts Mittwochs, so um Zwölfe rum. Hört rein und freut euch, dass eure Däumchen nun im Takte drehen können.

Trommelwirbel! - Die Manege verdunkelt sich. Im verbleibenden Lichtkegel des an die Decke gerichteten Scheinwerfers steht @eldomjan auf einem Gerüst hoch oben unterm Zeltdach.  Haltet den Atem an, denn gleich schwingt er sich und seine Musik durch eure Köpfe und malt ganz nebenbei noch mit links ein schönes Artwork für den nächsten verbimmelt-Podcast.

In these somewhat strange times we get the chance to take a deep dive into mømø’s soundtrack for episode 3. Following the tale of his all time favorite story character (Michael Ende's wonderful novel Momo), he has set course to remind people of the dangers that lie within the false promises of an economic-centered society. Mømø longs to give back some quality time offshore the lands of profit and efficiency.
Engineering audio to fit this dark tale, mømø has taken this episodes soundscape to resemble his feeling about isolation, uncertainty and discomfort in a state of a fading hope.

How Slow Can You Go #3 - mømø

MORO is a solo DJ project started by Marawan Gadalla during the 2020 pandemic as a creative outlet and way to connect with music lovers around the world. While currently based in Portland (USA), Marawan's roots are Egyptian (his time in Cairo was where his nickname "Moro" originated) and was born and raised in the Netherlands. During his time in Amsterdam, Marawan deeply connected with neighboring city Berlin; the parties, festivals, people and particularly its unique sound. All the puzzle pieces together? Blurry boundaries usually resulting in dark, colorful and groovy beats mixed with love across the realms of downtempo, slowrave, chillrave & melodic house/techno.

As a way to to spread joy and love around the world, MORO releases mixtapes under his co-created and conceptual music project Habibi Musik

This slow ride for aka-tapes stands for hope & faith, for a 2021 filled with love and happiness of course. <3
