In this week's episode we are very proud and honored to introduce you to our dear friend and brother, Evan Mars.  Evan, in the past known as DJ Akkad, is Syrian born and raised and now lives in Egypt currently.  He is a family man and deeply spiritual, and his music has definitely reflected this deep soul and loving heart.  

He comes from a very musical family, and is cousin to another well-known Syrian artist who is also part of the Odyssey family:  Special K https://soundcloud.com/mr_kamal85.  Both have performed together and are affiliated with the top artists in the Middle Eastern electronic scene, staying at the forefront of innovation in sound and performance.

Evan is the owner and founder of Immortal Bass Records.  He is has been released, along with https://soundcloud.com/immortalbassrecords, on https://soundcloud.com/orientaldeepevents, https://soundcloud.com/cafedeanatolia, and https://soundcloud.com/trndmusik.  He has cultivated a large following and hopes to keep building a strong, authentic community of passionate musicians and listeners alike.  

He is one of the top Middle Eastern producers and great supporter of the storytelling style.  From playing in exotic locations like the Sinai Desert to the Great Pyramids of Egypt to the biggest clubs of the Middle East, he always takes us on the mystical journey of the soul. 

He has been a man who has helped propel the desert house sound in organic house and downtempo/slow tech.  A perfect fit for the likes of Burning Man and other major desert festivals.  Mystical vocals, ney and zurna, oud, tambourines, bells, mesmerizing synthesizers, and more providing incredible atmosphere and providing a vivid dreamscape and vision world.

In his sound, there is a longing and hunger for something deeper than the superficial life in this world.  His DJ sets are journeys through the wilderness, encounters with various tribes and travellers, conversations of the spirit. Conversations with God.

During his journey, the pilgrim, at times, feels lost in the desert mountains, in search of God, of the meaning of life.  The pilgrim walks with a deep faith that he will find what he is searching for.  Evan welcomes you to this voyage through the desert.  Trust his guidance. He will not lead you astray.

We want these DJ sets created with serious storytelling, with a sacred message and the power of the ecstatic vision, whereby the storyteller enters a deep emotional state of peace, vision, revelation, and emotional unity in the heart with the eternal and life-giving love of God. The storyteller should include mystical sounds throughout, from great ethno-organic, organic house, slowtech, psychill, psydub, psybient, ambient, downtempo, progressive, dubtech, melodic techno, and whatever else encapsulates the otherworldly found in this world. :)

Taking from the mission and success of the Primordial Grooves project, this will take us back to the beginning energies of mankind, thus "primordial" energy. A exploration of the heart and soul and mind and body to find what makes us connected since the very beginning of mankind. What do we share as human beings and various tribes? This energy empowers and also heals us to the core. It is the life force, so the mix will have that original life force and be share in the way of all stories of the ancient storytelling oral tradition, which make up true history that is passed down from generation to generation.  This brings us to our innermost sanctums of our hearts. This brings us to God!
