Mystic State - Embrace Change EP [CKRA047]

Last year we embarked on a journey to the other side of the world to play some shows across Aotearoa / New Zealand. On a quiet evening in Otautahi / Christchurch, we headed to the beach with Tristan Truth, when Mike noticed a Fin Whale stuck on the sandbank, only a few hundred feet from the shore. We immediately hopped out of the vehicle and ran toward it. Coast Guard were called, and before long hundreds of onlookers had gathered to observe and pray for the majestic creature. We waited for hours, well into the night, but slowly realized that the emergency services were powerless to save the whale. 

The whale passed in the early hours of the following morning, and so we spent the next day writing a tribute to the animal and the impact the experience had on us all. 

This is “Kujira” - an ode to the whale, backed with “Parity”, another piece we wrote whilst in New Zealand. 

The hand drawn artwork, drawn entirely in dot-work by Adelaide Loake and printed at on Hahnemühle Bamboo 290gsm, is available from our store, and includes a free copy of the release. Limited to 30 copies only.
