After Mystic State's debut solo album, “My Own Private Island”, dropped last year, we decided it would be interesting to ask some of our favourite producers to pick a track from the album to remix. They all came through in style and we couldn’t be happier with how the remixes turned out.

Mystic State - My Own Private Island (The Remixes) [CKRA017]

We welcome production powerhouse duo Levrige to the Chikara catalogue with their “Karma” EP. 

Nearly two years ago, Levrige and label honcho’s Mystic State met through a mutual friend, headed to the Levrige studio in Downtown Vancouver, and began writing some break-driven, 160bpm drum lines and ethereal pads over a crate of beer. 

After some passing back and forth over the coming years, “Undercurrent” was born, and when Levrige sent over some demo ideas for Chikara, the “Karma” EP came together. The titular track is a smooth 170bpm roller with a killer bassline and  colourful percussive hits, and the final track “Readjusting” is a tough, synth-heavy monster with a heap of vintage flair.

The Chikara Project, the sexiest label you’ve never heard of, is back for it’s second release.
