Do you remember the story of how a mushroom began to grow on Oleg's head? It ended very well! The Mystique and Oleg turned to the queen of sound - their friend Myrh! She smiled, sang and turned the mushroom into a hat. Now Oleg could wear it whenever he wanted and he didn't have to wear a huge turban to hide his special appearance.

Oleg gladly took off his hat and sighed. The world became somehow uninteresting without her, and then he heard the song of the hat. She called him ... Put it on! 

He looked at the hat with disbelief, but after listening to the song halfway through, he put it on. Suddenly, Mauko materialized in the air and began to beatbox. Oh, how the song lacked this beat!

A collaboration with a music friend Encym (Roland)  Roland is one of the very few music friends I have had the pleasure of meeting face to face  (at a Tuesday Post gig hosted by the wonderful Georgina Brett). He is leaving London to return to his home city of Munich and the track is developed from some excellent samples that he sent me. These have been  radically developed/played in the app SpaceCraft and using an app version of a  reverb unit - RX950 (I used the physical version of this  on one my first ever tunes about 30 years ago). Bardo - is intermediate state, literally "between two"; "An intermediate stage between one phenomenon and another." When talking about bardo in Tibetan Buddhism, it usually means the interval between one life and the next. However, the meaning of the term "bardo" is much broader.

As I'd set up the loop and started recording (using the Dark Star, Mood, and Avalanche Run mostly), I left the studio to get a phone call. When I came back it was still playing with those lovely textures having changed and continuing to change ever so slightly. So I left it running and the result is this track.

Looking at the ground for real, we found that it was covered with tiny cracks. These cracks are so small, but even them are enough for subtle attention. 

Seeing through them, having an endlessly persistent intention to explore them to the very bottom, we transform into pure energy of contemplation. We flow through these cracks like water. 

Our soul is filtered layer by layer. Habits, preferences, attachments - are absorbed into withered grains of sand, greedy for moisture. All that remains is the intention to find out.
