'Some releases seem to happen almost by cosmic destiny. A curious Instagram message from HE.SHE.THEY. cofounder Steven Braines to rising producer/DJ Sorley asking if the artist from Sunderland, has any link to ‘Sorley Street’ - a road in Sunderland where Steven was born. Oddly, Sorley was indeed named after the same street as it’s also where he grew up some twenty years apart and a few doors down!

“Sophia and I had always been fans of the music and Sorley had been a fan of the label, when we heard Flava Rave we were like this is literally destiny”- Steven Braines. 

And so, the release was born.

Sorley has an infectious golden groove that cannot be mistaken, tantalising bass riffs, distinct sampling, acute vocal hooks, and electric lead lines make up that elusive signature sound. His sets showcase his musical taste and style, infusing his loves across the electronic music spectrum, ranging from house to disco to techno and everything in between.

‘Flava Rave’ is a perfect showcase of his distinct and captivating sound, ‘Flava Rave’ sets the EP off with a magnetic build up and bold, engrossing vocal samples. We then smoothly blend into the second track ‘Cool Herc’ with a gripping bassline and his signature high energy, vitalising vocals - this is one to get the dancefloor moving. The EP concludes with ‘Heads Talk’ which exudes buoyancy and carries the same exhilarating atmosphere that Sorley is known for.

Championed by BBC Radio 1's Danny Howard, Sorley was presented as a future fire artist for 2020 live on the airwaves. Closely followed up with ‘one to watch’ acclamations from super-brands Defected and HE.SHE.THEY, his sound is set to take over the world. His debut release on Snatch Records climbed to the top of the release charts in two days, a milestone that opened the floodgates. Continuing to secure two more number 1 EP spots with coveted labels such as Repopulate Mars and Nothing Else Matters.'
