Taking influence from artists like Jimmy Edgar, Richie Hawtin and Nicole Moudaber Annika Wolfe has an eclectic taste, which when combined gives her a unique and fresh sound. Deep and bass heavy with elements of Techno. It’s hard to pigeon hole the tracks into one narrow sub-genre, but if you imagine a cross between J.Phlip and Ramadanman fused with classic Claude VonStroke then you are getting close.

Today's exclusive premiere comes from Annika Wolfe and is titled “Alchemy”. Off her debut EP of the same name, the track has polished production and a bass heavy groove that fused a four to the floor groove with broken rhythms. Rich in melody, the track is both warm and uplifting with fast flowing hi-hats and a clap rhythm that fills the track with energy. Weird story behind this track.  Here it goes...This all happened back in January of this year (2019).  The first tune I heard that got me into bass house music was Expect Us - Welcome To The Basement [BOX OF CATS].  I first heard it on their Lost Catalog comp that dropped January 10th of this year (2019).  I was so inspired by that insane bass line, I just had to see if I had the skills to recreate that exact same sound on my own.  At the same time, my boy Torrfisk was kicking around these vocals he had recorded for a collaboration with Teknicoz on tune they produced called Medicine (released this week 10/24/19 on Sweets & Treats).  He threw them my way.  I had the project open so I dropped the vocals on top and then crushed out this tune....and voila...we have this oddly inspired banger. What is the Perfect Driver Tour Bus? 

We would like to be the first independent dance music record label to take our show on the road. Literally. With help from supporters, label-head Matthew Anthony will be customizing a Sprinter Van to pick up artists in one city to play shows in the next while remote operating the label in an ongoing Perfect Driver tour. See link to crowd-funding campaign below.

Our goal is to give Perfect Driver artists and fans a one of a kind experience. A #VanLife styled road trip where the DJ plays shows in big cities, small towns and everywhere in between, all while producing music in a mobile recording studio. Picture the Perfect Driver high-top Sprinter Van at a local art show or skate park with artists performing from the back. Or our #DJsAndCooking web-series broadcasting live from festivals. Imagine pit stops in National Parks while documenting artist & industry conversations on YouTube or Patreon for subscribers. Our plan includes playing quarterly shows in major markets.

If you're a Perfect Driver artist, we want to bring you on the road. If you're a show promoter or venue, we want to talk about working together. If you're in the media, we want you to help us get the word out. If you're a dance music fan or in the industry, we're asking for donations and partnering with sponsors.
