I'm so grateful for all of you listening out there, and I took all my gratitude and pressure cooked it into a 30 minute mix of unreleased tunes. The vibe of the past few years for me has been heavy, yet soulful. Mellow, yet hype. I tried to reflect that in this mix. :)

Pretty Lights music holds a dear place in my heart, he's what got me into electronic music. I mean I listened to the big stuff ofc, Daft Punk, Pendulum, Deadmau5 that kinda stuff but when I came across PL on a music thread on an old blizzhackers forum I was just stricken. Nothing I had experienced with electronic music up until then had SOUL like PL, it completely shifted my outlook on electronic music as a medium. Ended up going to my first show and seeing him in Charlottesville VA in 2011 and got hooked on the scene ever since.

I wanted to make this tribute similar to his old "The Hot Shit" mixes, especially the first 1-100ish ones. Just old school PL mixed with some hiphop/groovy/soulful electronic tunes.

Our next installment comes from Elan Vital Collective founders, Father Figure. The Project began in 2017 as the solo project of DJ/Producer, Matt Weishaupt. In 2022, longtime live collaborator, Matt McLaren, expanded into the engineering and production space. The now DUO is Influenced by both Golden Era NY Hip-Hop producers, like J.Dilla, DJ Premier, Pete Rock and the electronic and jam scene. Their sonic collages run the gamut stylistically from Electro Soul to Hip Hop to House and everything in between.
