You just stand there (Piano Version) is the reduced, intimate version of my epic track DestKorn – You just stand there, released on Saturday, November 1, 2025.

No orchestra, no vocals – just one piano.

Performed on the legendary NOIRE piano (Native Instruments, VST), a custom grand recorded in Hall 3 at Funkhaus Berlin. The sound moves between “Pure” (clear, present) and “Felt” (soft, muted, almost like a whisper), so every note sits right in front of you.

The mood is vulnerable, reflective, but not without hope. The piano quietly says: “You just stand there,” and the melody drifts through sadness, closeness, fragility, and small traces of light. A lot of space, a lot of air, no distraction.

Musical style: minimalist solo piano with a cinematic feel. No beats, no layering – just keys, played slowly on purpose so every tone can breathe.

Kein Orchester, kein Gesang – nur ein einzelnes Klavier.

Gespielt auf dem legendären NOIRE Piano (Native Instruments), einem speziell präparierten Konzertflügel aus Saal 3 des Berliner Funkhauses. Dieser Klang wechselt zwischen „Pure“ (klar, präsent) und „Felt“ (weich, gedämpft, fast flüsternd) und bringt jede Nuance direkt an die Oberfläche.

Die Stimmung ist verletzlich, nachdenklich, aber nicht hoffnungslos. Das Piano spricht leise: „Du stehst einfach da“ – und trotzdem wandert die Melodie durch Traurigkeit, Nähe, Zerbrechlichkeit und kleine Lichtpunkte. Viel Raum, viel Luft, keine Ablenkung.

Musikalischer Stil: minimalistisches Solo-Piano mit filmischem Charakter. Keine Beats, keine Layer, nur Tasten – bewusst langsam gespielt, damit jede Note wirken kann.

Wofür ist der Track gedacht?
Für ruhige Momente. Nachts allein. Zum Durchatmen. Für Szenen im Kopf, die eigentlich kein Wort vertragen. Genau dafür existiert diese Version.

I've been hearing so much AI music on SoundCloud lately that instead of jumping on the AI bandwagon, it's pushing me in the other direction where I want to do more songs with just me and my guitar.  
This is a live version that I played straight through from start to finish which I am using as an audition song for the Tucson Folk Festival.

Always a great experience making these experimental tunes with @enigmacurry. Usually I'll send Ryan a fairly simple arrangement of beats and synth melodies. By the time he is done rearranging and adding to the mix, it becomes a beautifully complex tapestry with lots of cool improvisational flourishes in terms of both musical performance and production techniques.
