Crackdown (Radio Edit 83) is taken from Cabaret Voltaire's new compilation #7885 (Electropunk to Technopop 1978 - 1985) on Mute on 23 June 2014 (UK) / 1 July (US)

#7885 (Electropunk to Technopop 1978 – 1985) compiles two distinct periods of Cabaret Voltaire - 1978-81 and 1983-85 – for the first time together on one release and follows the re-mastered vinyl release of Red Mecca and already legendary and sold out box set, #8385 (Collected Works 1983 – 1985).

Featuring classic tracks such as Nag Nag Nag, Do The Mussolini (Headkick), Sensoria, Landslide, I Want You and Just Fascination, #7885 (Electropunk to Technopop 1978 – 1985) was curated by Richard H Kirk who explains, “I decided to gather the more concise elements of the work… Hence the choice of 7” singles, edits and shorter album tracks, a kind of sound bite take on CV.”

There are many moments which can be recalled from the days of summer past. The dying embers of the sun would soon leave this place but for now they would dance in the golden glow beneath the trees. A roar would erupt from a small crowd as a drum banged between the leaves. Feet moved pacily in time and "Ciquita" they would chant euphorically for the whole damn world to hear. This one was an ode to summer madness, an ode to summer dreaming, an ode to summer past.

Ransom Note's very own "Ciquita" has been doing the rounds this summer and has appeared in some far flung locations. Bawrut has soundtracked our 2016, we're not sure about yours. However, now, as we enter the dying embers of the breezy, sun kissed months we unveil a new approach. Our good friend Moscoman steps up to deliver a remix to see in the Autumn as part of a new EP.

To celebrate the Small Faces’ Induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame we are releasing   two of the band’s biggest tracks as limited edition 7” vinyl singles with picture sleeves .

They are both authentic recreations of the original UK mono singles and are limited to 2500 copies each . Available through independent record retailers worldwide as part of Record Store Day on April 21st.

They each contain a unique limited edition picture postcard.

‘Itchycoo Park’/’I’m only Dreaming’ CHARLY 102S

The band’s second single for Immediate from August 1967 is an irresistible reminder of the Summer of Love. As a contemporary review noted, ‘This is a complete gas, lyrics, sound, feeling and all’.

‘Tin Soldier’/’I Feel Much Better’ CHARLY 103S

The band’s third single for Immediate from December 1967 is an aching love letter from Steve Marriott to his wife-to-be. An early and rarely matched example of the fusion of rock and soul.

Part of The Small Faces Re-Masters Series
The last five years have seen a massive programme of tape recovery and upgrading with the full co-operation and endorsement of both surviving band members. Kenney Jones has given access to his personal tape archive and many of the band’s original master tapes and session multi-tracks, previously lost for over forty years, have been discovered and re-mastered. It is thus now possible to present the Small Faces’ recordings sounding better than at any time since the 1960s. The Re-Masters series also presents a host of newly discovered tracks and alternative versions, alongside original artwork, photos, rare publicity material and memorabilia with comprehensive new sleeve-notes based around band interviews.
