i cant believe how much has happened, especially in the past half-year- im so thankful to have an audience (you!) listen to me, it still feels very unreal.

im grateful, but it also puts a lot of stress on me. its scary how the first thing i see when i open this site is my weekly play count. its only a number, but i cant help but associate it with the quality of my work and self-worth as an artist, even though it represents only a small part of it. theres a certain kind of anxiety i feel watching the plays trickle down after not releasing for a few weeks.

in the past few months, making music shifted away from something i do for fun to something that i feel like i have to do and have to do consistently, whilst one-upping myself every single release. i used to only make music for myself, and now im abruptly trying to change that by making music not only for myself but for an “audience”, whatever that means. i got tired of it. through november and december i didnt work on many things at all. i took a break and worked on small things that i wanted to do, instead of trying to rush a new song to release. but- i ended up reusing the sounds i made for fun into an actual track.. so it wasn’t really a waste of time anyway.

i know it myself the most.. my best tracks werent made by trying hard to make a new best song, it was always when i was genuinely having the most fun, usually when i was working with another artist, prod, or when i felt inspired. in 2026 i want to do more with other people and listen to more artists, and take a break when i need to. im starting university next year, and honestly, many things feel uncertain- but i hope that my music will be with me through it all.
