Plastic Sound Supply celebrates its 20th release by continuing a tradition of conceptual label compilations for every 10th release (see PSS010: Experimental Dance Breaks 36). Ultrasoft! Anthems 33 yields sixteen tracks that guide the listener through a diverse but cohesive array of ambient interpretations. From thick drones to cinematic soundscapes to minimal beats and melodies, these "anthems" flex the boundaries of an esoteric and outlying genre. Prolific ambient producers like offthesky, Ten and Tracer, Radere and Sean Byrd exhibit seasoned technique in their respective submissions, while artists like David Last, c.db.sn, Hollagramz and CacheFlowe use their vast experience in more upbeat and experimental genres to produce compelling, deep and delicate work. Several newcomers to the label deliver fresh and welcome additions to this dreamy production, while PSS remains a tight-knit group of Colorado's brightest musical minds. Building on a tradition of genre-defying output and continual reinvention, the collective rests gently underneath the umbrella of ambient music at this moment in time.

i'm n3u3S! (pronounced "noise") aka Kyle Warfield. my artist name is an appropriation of the german word "neue" which means "new". i spell it n3u3S! because when looked at upside down, the characters 3 3S! read "i SEE". 
i'm 23 years old.

everything that i will produce under this moniker uses samples entirely from my actual experiences. i have a digital sound recorder (it happens to be a Sony "IC" Recorder) that i use to constantly document the spontaneous, unintentional, mundane sounds that i perceive throughout my day.

much of what I record is music from my car radio whenever i'm driving. i scan every radio station on AM and FM, recording everything from the awful mainstream "hip-hop", to foreign music, religious music, beautiful jazz, nostalgic old school jams, to obscurities, etc. And i love the super noisy in-between stations that randomly switch between two different radio frequencies. the unintentional combinations are amazing.

i want to bring together the multitude of diverse sounds of my experiences to show how everything has the potential to be art. I think we are made of noise and surrounded by noise. the universe is comprised of atoms, energy, bits of information, and it all comes together to create new forms, experiences, potentials. I like that my name is sometimes mispronounced as "news" because novelty can be manifested from noise.
