The Shadow Side is a triphop track with jazz influences. You will enter into the shadow side of the 1930s universe. It was built with samples from only vinyl records. A small personal challenge on the technique to get back to the basics of hiphop, with MPC, turntables and vinyls.

Alex, alias N47 is a multi-hat artist, with skills in 3 artistic domains: Djing, turntablism and beatmaking. He is originally from the Toulon region in the south of France and is currently based in the Geneva region. He participated as a DJ in concerts for Geneva rappers, mainly for FavO. He also played DJ sets for local events. It is around 4 flagship musical genres such as hiphop, triphop, jungle and drum'n bass that N47 has developed its musical universe: a universe where music is a geographical and temporal journey, and through which it tends to arouse the curiosity of the listener and trigger certain emotions.

He started to play music in the 2000s. The trigger for all of this? Unmissable bands like Iam, NTM, Assassin, Keny Arkana, Arsenic, the emergence of hiphop and the 1995/2000 period which he considers its golden age. But also personal moments that needed to be transcribed in artistic form, through beatmaking with his groups of the time.
In 2010 he met artists passioned about DJing and he bought his first Technics MK2 turntables. He turned more towards the harmonic mix during these few years and broadcast his DJ sets for local events.
In 2013, he broadened his range of skills in turntablism in Paris and Geneva region. Bands like The Chinese Man, The Grass People, JK Soul inspire him enormously. Beatmaking therefore takes another turn, where scratches decorate the shelled samples, and where the turntables are transformed into a real musical instrument.

Today, N47 released and continues to release triphop / abstract hiphop tracks and DJ sets available on SoundCloud, MixCloud and Audius platforms.
