Guitarist, singer and songwriter Omara “Bombino” Moctar is indeed a nomad, the word he has chosen as the title for his Dan Auerbach–produced Nonesuch debut, recorded during 10 days of sessions at Auerbach’s Easy Eye Sound in Nashville, Tennessee. A native of Agadez, Niger, he is a member of the Tuareg people, who have, for centuries, tended cattle and wandered the Saharan desert regions of West Africa. But rising star Bombino—buzzed about in music circles since the independent release of his 2011 album Agadez—has adopted the farther-reaching role of itinerant musician, intrepidly bringing a plugged-in version of his mesmerizing native sound to audiences around the world.

Bios are hard to write. 😅 And I rather do something else. But here's some stuff my bio would include:

- Music is both my hobby and my job.

- I'm a musician, DJ, Producer. 

- I'm an ex amateur Skateboarder. 

- I founded a label and collective called Discotexas / DTX with my friend Moullinex. It's been a while. 

- I'm grateful I've collaborated with a ton of artists that are also my idols. Name dropping time? ok: 
Moullinex, Vaarwell, Rampa, WhoMadeWho, Lazarusman, Gisela João, AWEN, GPU Panic, Sinego, Meta_, DJEFF, SKALA, Joris Voorn, Adana Twins, Acid Pauli, O Terno... I'm lucky. 

- I've released music on Discotexas, Anjunadeep, Cercle, Moblack, Monaberry, Frau Blau, Deutsch Gramophone, TAU, Watergate...

- 3 albums, tons of EPs, Singles and remixes. Some movie soundtracks. And I've never been nominated for a Grammy :(

- I'm still in love with Punk and Hardcore music and ethics. A big part of me and of my inspiration come from these styles of music / ways o living. 

- I'm a skeptical utopian.

- I suffer from mild tinnitus. Please protect your hearing. 

- I have no idea where I see myself in 10 years.
