This week we have a mix recorded by Art Vandelay co-founder of Hot Record Société. A label born in Oakland, California in 2012. They started the project with a couple of compilations showcasing some of their favorite artists at first. And later the label grew up hosting a variety of releases by very talented artists from around the world including ShunGu, Javi Santiago, Aru-2, Keor Meteor, Broke/, Mr. Troy, SNK∆, Damacha, J'Von & LAKIM, SufYan, earoh, livmartez, Prajnuh, yogi, ˚D•∆•ø•I•M˚ and more. 

Please stay tuned with them since they plan on doing many physical releases in the coming years. These will include releases from visual artists as well.
Also, look out for a ShunGu zodiac sampler cassette in the near future!

Urban Waves Radio 31- Hot Record Société

In recognition of 2010 as the International Year of Biodiversity, the British Library's TalkScience event explored how issues relating to biodiversity are becoming issues in public policy contexts, particularly in the face of climate change. Georgina Mace, the director of the Centre for Population Biology at Imperial College London, introduced the topic. Professor Mace was instrumental in developing the IUCN Red List of threatened species and is actively involved in setting international biodiversity targets. November 2010.
