This mix was created for Holotropic Happy Hour, the former weekly Twitch stream show that I co-produced, in September 2021. This mix is very personal for me, as it contains a lot of music I have been using to heal my heart through some challenging moments. Lots of brain-tickling and heart.

"keerd is fascinated by how music influences the environment around us - how it sets the scene and tells a story that reflects the writer's emotions or experiences in unique ways. With the California Bay Area native's background in sound design, he has been perfecting his craft in electronic music for over a decade. This multi-genre producer strives to tell stories through his music and mixes, taking the listener on a kinetic yet spacious journey with his original sounds and movements. He is a founding member of Inquiry Collective where he handles all things graphic-related and manages their record label, @Inquiry-Records.
'I felt it would be appropriate to re|flect back on some of my favorite productions in the last few years, so I prepared a mostly original set. It goes through DnB, Breaks, UK Garage, and a little Ambient/Dubsteppy stuff. I haven't done many all or mostly original sets, but am very happy with how this came out. Suti is a beautiful little festival held in rural Portugal in late summer. I attended their fourth edition in September 2023 and had the pleasure of following an artist I love to pieces - Zen Baboon. My set started at midnight after they'd been playing midtempo wiggly tunes, so I followed suit. As a result, this set is a tad more on the energetic side within the range of music I like to play, and I had a chance to explore some of the slow house tunes I've been collecting and listening to. It was great fun, and the crowd was very responsive.

WHAT IS

This collection of atmospheric deepstep tracks is further along on the continuum of the Subtextures compilation that I put together for Interchill Records back in 2016. It took a few years to assemble and was made for the digital artist Android Jones (www.androidjones.com) who generously let us use a piece of his phenomenal art for the Subtextures cover design. 

Respect and praises to all of the artists and labels who put out such wickedly chill tunes. Much gratitude to J. Job for the finishing touches.

"Hailing from Melbourne, Australia, griff is quite the prolific musician. Most known for his original acoustic-driven composition, he is also a DJ and a talented guitar player who has performed throughout Australia and the US. His electronic compositions are often infused with his stringwork, a style he has become well known for. His music tends to lean on the downtempo to midtempo side of things, although he is versatile with pace as a producer and DJ - and this mix brilliantly showcases that.

We won’t reveal too much, as the mix speaks for itself, but it is an impeccable journey through an extensive range of styles and feels, each with a World music influence like much of griff's own productions.
