In 2024, Berlin's JOY parties, podcast series and label celebrate nine years of ecstatic connection. To honor this milestone, the keepers of JOY are releasing a special cassette compilation, Eros As Gnosis, featuring contributions from label residents and friends across the globe.

Ahead of the release, Temple of Joy records is thrilled to share The Trouble Solvers, a melancholic mantra collaboration between Italian producer Antonio Barbetta and the enigmatic Asian-based vocalist Vortex Abrax that teamed up for an abrasive journey.

Info: Our third vinyl release lands just before the close of the year and it is a special one. Petros Spatharos leads with a set of bangers distilling perfectly the sound of the label. Athens-based artist is widely known for his dark, immersive industrial sound, so yeah expect nothing less.

Side A starts with ”Datura”, layering heavy drums with dark reeses and syncopations - solid stuff. ”Xorkia” is an eyes-down track which will keep you in the zone with stellar percussion and atmosphere. ”Vultures” closes the first side with higher energy levels and more distinct breakbeat elements.

On Side B, Randstad remixes ”Datura” and pumps up the tempo to create a mind-bending industrial electro track with aggressive synths. Boris Barksdale wrap-ups the physical release by remixing ”Xorkia” and changing the core to techno while reworking percussion to create an industrial heavy-hitter track.

On top of this, ”Reformer” from Petros Spatharos has been added to the release as a digital bonus which you can download exclusively from our Bandcamp page.

This album brings together twelve previously unreleased tracks from 2014-2015, showcasing his playful, melodic style across electro, acid, and IDM landscapes with his signature uptempo beats, along with a few more downtempo tracks in this selection .

Alongside the digital release, a limited-edition cassette (60 copies) includes a 39-minute excerpt from J. Mono’s latest live set at the Dalmata Daniel & MMN showcase in 2020, held just days before lockdowns transformed live music.
