Death Cab For Cutie "Transatlanticism" (from Transatlanticism)

Experimental cover of TV on the Radio's 2003 song "Young Liars" by 3/4 of the band formerly known as "halcyon days" (Joel Flynn, Ryan Pollock, Matt Wilson). Recorded and produced by Ryan Pollock using Apple Logic in July/August 2011 in Campbell River, BC. This version of the song emerged from an unintended vocal and acoustic guitar track by Joel Flynn while testing out Pollock's microphone and home studio set up. Some harmonies were then added as an experiment, then the track grew and grew to include additional guitar and production work by Pollock, as well as bass by Matt Wilson while he was back in Campbell River as well. 

The song choice by Flynn was simply a result of his having missed the TV on the Radio show at the Commodore in Vanc week. It's a favorite band, one that had been <a href="http://snd.sc/zzxkz4">covered with a different song previously</a>, so seeing the <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gp1luyUOXUA">live "Letterman" version of the song on YouTube</a> see video link) was pouting about having missed the show. What resulted was a bit of an accidental production on a return visit to "the Riv".
