A three-time award winning singer and songwriter, Ariyah has been growing in popularity and gaining the attention of the public in the past years with her melodic songs and deep reflective lyrics and music videos, noting how much she loves to shed light and perspective on confronting topics through her music. Quoting the artist, “music is the world’s universal language, and no message can be communicated as powerfully as it can through a song.”

Growing up in Sydney, Australia, Ariyah first showed strong signs of musical talent as a very young child, becoming her family’s singing diva. Her parents later enrolled her in a music school when she was 8 where she began playing the piano. The rebellious student would ditch the books and spend much of her time composing her own melodies and music. She initially wrote a lot of poetry but would only come to putting the words and music together and creating her songs at the age of 15.

The name Ariyah, which was given to the artist by her elder sister, is said to describe the artist perfectly with all the diverse meanings the name holds.

In recent years, she began creating a real buzz around her, earning herself 4 song curations and 3 awards, with the last one being an “Award of Merit” from the LA Global Shorts, for her short film “Don’t Come Back”, a stunning trip-hop ballad Ariyah had performed at the World Top DJs Awards 2016 that earned her a standing ovation and much praise after showcasing her gifted vocal ability.

Her release prior to “Don’t Come Back”, a project Ariyah considers extremely dear to her heart, was an original Pop/Rock ballad with an uplifting powerful beat called “Our Home”, that features rapper JaiC. “Our Home”, which lays the backdrop for Ariyah to deliver a profound message promoting compassion and peace, went on to winning the artist her 2nd award for ‘Best Video/ Song Middle East’ in the female indie-artist category in January 2016.

In November 2014, Ariyah earned herself the ‘Best Debut Female Singer’ award for her second original video/ song release, “The Club - DJ AKS remix”, a fun Pop/Dance song with a sarcastic cartoon video concept Ariyah wrote and produced, that added to the defiant lyrics of the song, poking fun at silly breakups.

Since “Our Home”, Ariyah’s musical direction began to change a lot, where the artist started to morph from a younger mainstream commercial Pop songwriter, into a somewhat deeper, sometimes darker and more reflective artist, with often complicated messages that required reading between the lines. This move set the artist on a different journey, dividing her followers dramatically who began to question her new music. Along with her music producer mockingly labelling her “The Queen of Darkness”, the artist had to learn to embrace the feedback and understood that her new path would mean a more selective audience. She continues to write mainstream Pop songs, but no longer sees herself as “that” artist anymore.

On the 14th of February 2018 and to commemorate Valentine’s Day, Ariyah released her one and only happy love song, “You’re The One”, which amalgamates together the sweetness of melody & lyrics describing that burning flame inside the heart of someone completely and totally in love.

Ariyah combines her passion for music with the power of creative visuals, pushing herself extremely hard to bring her audience an entirely new side to her, resulting in a greatly captivating and perfectly comical music video. The video which was written, directed and edited by the artist, explains that love will always defy all obstacles.

In June 2019, following the release of her tribute track to Chester Bennington “I’ll See You Smiling” which was born from the global outpouring of grief when he took his own life, Ariyah’s songs and hard work caught the attention of the A&R department at Universal Music who noted that she was one of the more talented songwriters they had spoken to in a while. Universal specifically took interest and commented on her songs “You’re The One” and “Our Home” at the time, but advised how the 2 songs were sitting in 2 completely different markets and that she had to make a serious decision on which direction she wanted to take as an artist. It wasn’t a difficult decision for Ariyah whose considerably turbulent life and sensitive nature made her highly in tune with issues going on around her; issues she was extremely drawn to writing and composing around.

The artist began working on her EP and artist brand for Universal when the arrival of the CoVid19 pandemic hit the global music industry exceptionally hard and meant that all the work and performances had to be put on hold. At present, the singer songwriter is back to writing and recording and is currently preparing her tracks for the next best thing.
