Scouse Rock & Roll duo Generation have announced their return with a brand new mini-album 'Suicidal Champagne'. The new record is a rip-roaring debut that captures the unrelenting spirit of today’s youth. It features 7 high-octane tracks that radiate the raw energy of classic punk-rock with an added modern edge. 

The title track and first single from the upcoming album is available to stream here on Soundcloud now and will be coming to all DSPs in late Septemeber. 

Generation is the creative alias of brothers James and Dean Carne. Having grown up on a healthy concoction of Funk and Soul music, the pair discovered Rock & Roll at a much later age than most. As a result, they are able to approach their craft with a different, more appreciative understanding of the genre. Hailing from Liverpool, UK, both brothers are vocalists, song-writers and multi-instrumentalists.
The band was formed in their late-teen years during a period of self-discovery and experimentation, though up until this point the outfit has released few records, relying chiefly on word of mouth from their nefarious live shows. Now, with the release of ‘Suicidal Champagne’, they have the chance to pack the euphoric excitement of their live shows into a 20 minute explosion of recorded sound. This vulnerable, coming-of-age expression flows throughout the mini-album and shows that there is an emotional depth to the band’s writing.

The album contains the supercharged fan favourites ‘I Like It’ and ‘Who Loves This Generation?’ as well as five previously unreleased tracks that showcase the duo’s versatile lyrical content. Tracks like ‘Tokyo’ and ‘Who Loves This Generation’, ask more serious questions about the lack of identity that most young adults experience, whereas the title track, ‘Suicidal Champagne’, highlights the joys and consequences of underage drinking. ‘21st Century Woman’, is an observational song, inspired by ill-reputed club nights in the heart of Liverpool's city centre. It acts almost as an apology to women and a call to arms to prevent people conforming to toxic societal norms.
The two shorter tracks on the album, ‘Put Your Middle Fingers Up’ and ‘Honey Mouthed Girl’ are perfect examples of the unrelenting energy that Generation radiate. Spontaneous by nature, what the songs lack in length they make up for in brevity providing 2 minutes of fast-paced, infectious Rock & Roll.

‘Suicidal Champagne’, was recorded and produced over the course of a few days in a converted barn / studio. The duo was joined by James Kenosha (Pulled Apart By Horses, Rhodes, Dry The River), who acted as both drummer and producer on the album. 

James’ professional know-how, merged with the passion and youthful energy of Generation, seems to have created an album that is built for the modern age. ‘Suicidal Champagne’ is both distinctive and unrepeatable and is just waiting to hit the speakers in the coming months.
