In the midst of the raging sea,
There I was sailing.
The waves were pounding me,
Making me afraid.
(And it seems That Christ has left me,) x2
(But I no longer see him because of my weak faith) x2

Jesus when he saw me,
Came to me quickly.
In my despair and darkness,
He opened my eyes.
(When I saw him, I cried have mercy) x2
(He came to me quickly and had mercy on me) x2

The sounds of the angry waves,
Agonized my ears.
Darkness of the creeping night,
Has threatened my peace.
(And the tears, have not left my eyes)x2
(And the sleepless nights, have overwhelmed me) x2

I was in despair and drowning,
And my hope is torn.
I came to my beloved Jesus,
Offering him my tears.
(When he saw me, He had compassion on me) x2

The Lord is near to those who call on Him
He is not far as we have made Him 		
He’s not a stranger to all our sufferings
He said “come now hurry all you weary”
To give them rest from burdens too heavy  
To wipe a tear from all hearts in misery

Sojourner and no place to stay
Abandoned, doubted and friends betrayed 	
Yet He arose to grant the way 
to eternity
A friend to the tax collectors, 
A comfort for the adulterers,
An advocate for the sinners 
Of whom I am chief

He guided all those questioning, 
goodness on earth He was spreading, 	
He tasted death while bearing 
The shame of sinners 
His night of death, prayed earnestly
Father willing, take this from Me
Sweat drops of blood from agony
All for my sake

When I was thirsty He quenched me 
When I was naked He clothed me
When abandoned He sheltered me 
From all my fears 				
So how can I not be trusting
His love I'll never be doubting 
A Father who is so loving 
Even to death
