Hiroshi Watanabe has been releasing records since 1996, with styles ranging from deep house to his more recognized ambient/electronica works on Kompakt under the guise of Kaito. A stalwart for the label for the past twelve years, Hiroshi has clocked up no less than eight albums and recently released the rather brilliant ‘Less Time Until The End’.

His passion for introspective electronic music is clearly visible in his latest release and his Kaito moniker is seemingly dedicated to this emotional side. Named after his son and translating as “the one that is able to explain the universe”, Kaito’s music is warm, analogue and immersive electronica, riddled with a million stories. Hiroshi’s a big believer in communicating through his music and opens up to the many ways a track can be perceived- he’s a storyteller, a painter of the night sky and the magician behind the soundtrack which accompanies them.

Hiroshi’s isolatedmix stems from this approach and takes us on a night-flight through some of his inspirations that span the spectrum of the ambient electronic genre – a perfect introduction to the newbie or an expertly curated accompaniment for the veteran. Hiroshi will be the guide, but you’ll make your own way there…

“I started with this kind of electronic music, mainly because my father created some very imaginative ambient music when I was child (around the late 70s). I was watching how he made the music and the sound seemed so impressive. It was because of this I fell in love with electronic music.

I love how the music can portray special images within each person – no-one the same, it’s impossible. There’s no need for vocals, or lyrics or words, just sound. I can close my eyes and it’s all I need – every person connecting to the universe through tension, energy and inspiration.

This is a selection of music which reflects that feeling – something special. Of course, there are tonnes to choose from and some amazing ambient music in the world, but this is just a little selection. Please enjoy the music and use your imagination to travel your own way”

It has been a crazy inspiring year and I was lucky to get the opportunity to express that in such a beautiful way. 

Here is a selection of pivotal ambient tracks, a glimpse into French impressionism and synesthesia, contemporary classical, film scores and sound collages from some of my adventures around the world chasing this music dream. 

This was a completely new experience for me, I've never played an ambient set before and never attempted to record music in a Gothic cathedral before. What you're hearing is a mix of line-out and microphone recordings from around the pulpit. 

Of course, with any experiment, the first time is a steep learning curve. Luckily I was invited back to this magnificent place in March 2015 and can't wait to go deeper into this process.

Live @ God Goes Deep, Vor Frue Kirke Copenhagen - November 2014

Although it is a contemporary audiovisual take on disco, WTFunk? is an archetypal M4CHINE release.
A live act by nature, but not traditionally so, M4CHINE’s riffs on the virtual band members" concept by globally knitting together performers who would not usually have the opportunity to play together in a physical situation.

The hook - the funkiest of licks - and solo guitar work is performed by Henning Rümenapp, guitarist from German rock band "Guano Apes". Vocalist Mehandi Hasan sings with a trademark smoky India vibe, backed up by Misha Law, a Bristol based female singer. Live percussion provides a garnish, performed by Jacob Kiersch, drummer of the synth-pop band "Alphaville" and the German rock band "Gods of Blitz", in tandem with tabla master Naushad Khan. Hitting the MS-20 for some classic psychedelic monophonic action is Andy Ypsilon, from the famous German hip-hop band ‘Die Fantastischen Vier’.  
Then, to totally throw a curveball into the mix, Ulli Freise of Elster Silberflug, a specialist in medieval and renaissance music, goes beyond retro equipped with a lute. And finally, to top off the package like an elaborate glacier cherry, WTFunk? features the world’s second most desirable piece of dance music production equipment after the Roland TB-303 - a tractor. Yep, of the “digs up potato” variety. Pure analogue action. 
The vibrancy of the creative product has rubbed off on the Lucidflow co-owners. Nadja Lind abandons her trademark overcast dub tones and lets the sun shine right through, retaining the elements of the original but sharpening the edges for more of a dancefloor orientated take. Helmut Ebritsch pulls out the big guns with a warp-bass vs. psychedelic guitar solo soundmash.

Last year Nadja Lind and Lucidflow decided to challenge preconceptions with Brain Candy. Scientifically proven to give you healthy teeth and bones, as well as giving you the ability to rearrange your body into a series of geometric shapes on any given dance floor, it was the kind of candy the world had been crying out for. Not one to rest on their laurels, Lucidflow have been working on a fresh new flavours of candy for 2012, and are proud to present the 1 year anniversary Brain Candy Remixed package.
Samplers have been gradually released from the Lucidflow HQ and have been currying favour with highly influential DJ/Nutritionists such as John Digweed. This of course owes a great debt to the exclusive array of guest candy artisans involved with the project.

Well, there are a multitude of depths contained within this package; G- Man offers a gnarled and chewy churn when tackling After The Rain, Silky draws inspiration from the classic synths of the 80's with a darkly Miami Vice-esque reworking of The Pretty, UGLH get gritty on a robofunked up The Preach, you'll find Yapacc's masterful Sorry Books remix coats your tongue in sparkles and fairy dust, while Grunbox jacks up Chat-Lag with sharp edged tech percussion.
Fans of the hugely popular Limbus flavour of Brain Candy are well catered for; there are no punches pulled with D. Diggler's tribal tech reworking, Hernan Catteneo and Soundexile are happy to wrap you up in airy candy floss, and Paul Loraine indulges in a dark and treacly dub.
Talking of dub, those with the spirit of Jamaica in their veins are well catered for with Saytes' acid groove that is spun out of title track Brain Candy, the eponymous Dub Taylor scatters harmonic chords through a deep rub of After The Rain, and Ali Khan scatters glitch brass throughout restrained perspective on Chat-Lag.
Finally, those of a deep persuasion have no further to look than Oliver Schories fluid progressive rework of Drifting Elements, Helmut Ebritsch's mood shifting A Choice remix or Sasch BBC & Caspar's light and floaty version of Brain Candy.
So put your toothbrushes away and prepare for a sugar high, Brain Candy Remixes will be available in many a reputable audio confectioner from 22nd October. Get sweet.
