Beda is the self proclaimed spook of Langstrasse! He's been an avid record collector for the most part of his life and as an eraly 90's raver and Dj he grew up with electronic music and was part of pathing the way to what electronic nightlife in Zurich resembles. No stranger to the booths of clubs or festivals like "Dachkantine" or "Nation of Gondawana", there is no doubt to the fact, that he knows what he's doing. It wasn't where the big names played, but it was THE place to hang out with friends.  Over the years, those stages have vanished, so I believe downtempo is like a lost art.

Dawntempo is my unique brand of that -- downtempo at dawn.  It's vibey, and it makes you want to wiggle, but it's also chill enough that hanging out and talking with friends feels totally appropriate.

ARTIST'S BIO:
@mayilovesummer strives to share and support music that she loves, giving her a stronger and very relatable voice to convey what inspires her. Music allows her to act as a vessel, creating a shared soul-cleansing experience. The meditative and ambient sounds work dichotomously within her mixes as patterns build and transcend, taking different forms and allowing emotions to be felt deeply and majestically.

Musically, she is influenced by dark, hypnotic, bass-driven, broken-beat techno, experimental, and ambient. Growing up in a family that followed Vaishnava tradition (one of the major forms of modern Hinduism) she is to this day naturally gravitated to Eastern sonic patterns. Paying close attention to ethics, diversity, and inclusivity when she constructs her mixes, she is mindful of the presence of female and queer artists in her collection.

Patrice Bäumel is the globetrotting producer and DJ whose music goes way beyond the dancefloor. The Dresden born ,Amsterdam based House and Techno champion grew up on a concoction of  Jazz, Depeche Mode and country music that (somehow) blossomed into a love of hardcore and gabba. Fast forwasrd a few years to when Hard Wax open a store in Dresden and Bäumel began to find his fingers on the records that would become his bread and butter.

Having been a longstanding resident at the late Trouw nightclub in Amsterdam, Patrice is more than well versed behind the decks and we are so excited to welcome him into the mix for i-D. Ahead of his set at Ibiza’s legendary Space next weekend press play on the deep tech sounds of Patrice Bäumel.
