Church is back in action with their second various artists compilation featuing brand new productions from DJ Aakmael, Aquarium, Laurence Guy & Debukas. Church has definitely been a label to watch lately after they released one of the best selling records of the year from Mall Grab but we've also been keeping an eye on another artist from the label who's been making music for a long time but only recently started to get the attention he deserves. Laurence Guy has recently dropped some great solo EP's on Church and Rose Records and contributed to compilations and split EP's on CinCin and Outplay but his latest addition to Churches Volumes 002 has the entire Phonica crew tapping our feet and nodding our heads in approval! It's strength lies in its subtlety, 'Wish I Knew' is a stripped back and piece of House music which effortlessly plays with tension and release. In February 2016 Midland made his contribution to the hugely influential BBC Essential Mix series. The end of the mix came in the shape of an unreleased track that would go on to soundtrack dance floors and festivals the world over. That track was 'Final Credits.' Since its creation in the depths of winter to its vinyl release in June, with weekly airings everywhere from Panorama Bar to DC10 to Dekmantel Festival, the record has united dance floors and become one of the most unlikely tracks of the year. As the summer disappeared, calls for a full release of 'Final Credits' have swelled, and now, thanks to The Classic Music Company we're delighted to say this is becoming a reality.

Berlin-born-and-raised Lars Huismann debuts on Märked alongside Tim Tama and Chêne, who – as well as Lars -  have been gaining pace at a progressive rate. After having debuted on labels like Animal Farm and Binary Cells, Lars is one of West-Europeans artists that people should keep an eye out for. With support by Dax J, Slam, Tommy Four Seven, Amotik and Norman Nodge, Lars gets deserved recognition for his music that could be described as both clean and complex, heavy and hypnotic.

No Exit EP: of which the EP title track could refer to a world of information overload and uncontrolled chaos with the slightest hope and impression of stabilization  (in the tracks case), or the artwork that hints to an ever so busy metropolis where nights are blooming and all possible kind of traffic seems eternal. So are the forward-driving and aggressive synths in ‘No Exit’, accompanied by apocalyptic doomsday violin-play - which will also have a more mild feature in the first track of this EP.
We start off the EP with a nineties themed composition with a futuristic touch. ‘Spartian Disco’ runs on a crispy retro acid engine enhanced with notes of a modernized violin for extra adherence.
Big kicks, rattling percussion and cleverly organized sounds of vinyl-scratching in ‘Voices In The Head’. This track is characterized by a nasty scrape of metal that supports its obscure hypnotic shape. A distorted trombone from the deepest of lairs will blast you away from the second part on.
Holland’s up-and-coming Tim Tama favours immediacy over depth this time in his remix of Spartian Disco. A muscular techno track should either have a hard kick, piercing well-crafted percussion, a vigorous vocal or all of that is mentioned. Which in that case Tim Tama has hit the perfect spot. 
Yoeri from Noneoftheabove as Chêne is giving his remix of Voices In The Head a taste of the forceful and bold side of NOTA, which was also previously heard in their Grounded debut track A1. A haunting stomper injected with thunderous horns and rolling machinery.

The fourth installment and latest in the Falling Ethics ELEVEN series contains tracks by label owner P.E.A.R.L., JK Flesh and the mysterious Auto De Fe. 'Moral Standards' is a tough opening track by label owner P.E.A.R.L. that is dancefloor oriented and packed with an almost tribal vigour. JK Flesh's 'Static Demon' revolves around a non linear rhythm and a fierce synth sequence that elvolves throughout. Auto De Fe's 'Mierda Bendita' is an adventurous piece of work that will strike a chord will lovers of industrial music.

Lars Huismann is the last link of the biological transfer that emerged in the preliminary steps of @meta4records, and the first commitment of the record company to inaugurate the division dedicated to vinyl format. The German producer is perfectly integrated into the DNA of the label with an industrial reference that emphasizes the great control of this artist to create an infinity of harmonic lines, and above all, exuberant percussions.

"Bound To Illusions" takes us to a deep atmosphere that is wrapped in a rhythmic structure that varies intermittently with a set of broken and penetrating drums

Berlin-based DJ and producer Sebo K, known for distributing a distinctive stream of pristine cuts for over a decade, is next to step through for Cassy’s label Kwench Records. 

Known for being meticulous in his craft, the result is a stellar back catalogue of lauded-releases dispersed among label heavyweights Rekids, Mobilee Records, Ovum, Bass Culture Records, Robsoul Recordings and Tsuba, among more. Launching his DJ career in ‘90s Berlin, his affection for Chicago and New York house quickly bagged him gigs across the city, including a residency at Watergate since 2002, and from there he soon hit the road, making a beeline for far flung haunts across the globe.

Love him as a selector, and as a producer, you really just have to look at the calibre of labels he’s released for – that speaks for itself. Sebo K reaches for a stack of disco samples inspired by house sounds of the mid ‘90s to craft his Kwench dispatch, and it boots off with ‘New Steps’, a striking house cut, bolstered by a sample of American poet and civil rights activist Maya Angelou from her poem Pulse Of Morning. The Dub version of the title track cuts a slick figure, while ‘L.U.V’ sashays into the forefront, leading nodding heads to a sweet spot where disco prevails.

When the NYC Club Classic “I’m In Love” by Sha-Lor hit the streets in 1988, singer Lori Lava (the ‘Lor’ of Sha-Lor) was only 16 years old. That record was produced by Newcleus/Dream 2 Science mastermind Ben Cenac aka Cozmo D and his connections landed Sha-Lor the opportunity to perform live at Tony Humphries' legendary club night at Zanzibar in New Jersey. It was a hit, but for a variety of reasons the group’s house music story seemed to end…. UNTIL NOW

Thanks to a friendly bridge built between Cozmo D and Soul Clap and his suggestion to continue Sha-Lor! Today in 2020, Sha-Lor is singer/songwriter Lori Lava and daughter Ashanti Maynard who fills the role as ‘Sha’. These two vocalists bring some serious energy to the collaboration’s debut record, “Jussa Come.” The true house heads know, “I’m In Love,” but few know of Sha-Lor’s Caribbean roots.

Soul Clap wanted to capture and mix the flavors to create “Jussa Come”; part house, part soca/dancehall and definitely HOT FIYAAH. Sha-Lor’s chatting vocal style is right up front and center over an infectious, uptempo and anthemic beat. Sha-Lor states “It feels good to be back in a genre that I love, bringing my Caribbean Roots to you. Like my Tune says “Uno Tink say mi dun but mi Jussa come” meaning I’m Not Done Yet ..... I’m Just Getting Started!!”

We call upon new talent for our fifth 12" release, a four track EP that also includes a remix from Dexter. The Leeds-based producer is set to blow up in 2010, having announced his arrival last month with the “Your Words Matter” 12" on Aus Music, a collaboration with pal Ramadanman. “Play The Game” begins moodily, Midland setting the scene with deep dub-chords before letting rip with a beautifully controlled breakbeat and a warm,insistent bassline. When the doleful string-pads arrive you know you're dealing with an anthem, and the intensity continues to rise as yearning, ethereal vocal snippets a la Burial, Pangaea or Joy Orbison skirt of the rhythm's surface. The track is a masterclass in building tension, with a succession of nail-biting builds giving way to subtle but devastating drops, and in this Midland shows uncommon maturity for such a young producer.On the remix front we find Holland's one and only Dexter. Fresh from “Redbox” – on Steffi’s Dolly imprint, Dexter completely reinvents “Play The Game”, turning out a finished product that really doesn't sound like anything else out there right now. Driven by a warped, distorted bassline that recalls the hoover sound of 90s Belgium and Kevin Saunderson in his pomp, teamed with dramatic strings, old-school percussion and positively oceanic breakdowns, it's big-room, electro-inflected techno of the highest order.“Leitmotif” finds Midland exploring an even deeper techno style, strengthening the groove with spectral FX and panning, dubbed-out percussion, and then scything it in half with a buzzing, trance-inducing bassline - this one has 'secret weapon' written all over it, primed for the club but with a pleasingly introspective quality as well. 'Head Down' continues his penchant for melodic, echo-drenched chords and disembodied vocal textures, this time riding an irresistibly skippy 4/4 rhythm. The record has received great feedback with djs across the board getting on different tracks from Ellen Allien, Laurent Garnier, Jimpster, Richie Hawtin, Deetron, Ramadanman and many more.
