En este segundo capítulo recibimos a Juan Peralta, conocido como @diskoan, que nos envía una de sus características sesiones de escucha, esta vez un viaje musical basado en la novela de ciencia ficción Solaris, de Stanisław Lem. También accede a responder a un pequeño cuestionario donde nos explica los porqués de la sesión que envía y también nos ayuda a entender, de la mano de su entusiasmo y compromiso, la práctica de Dj tal y como él la concibe.

La sesión fue registrada en directo, en la actuación inmesiva audiovisual que el colectivo @calmamadrid realizó en la Escuela Municipal de Música y Danza María Dolores Pradera (Madrid), dentro de la programación del Festival Flipas 2021.

"My musical foundations are rooted in AC/DC, Sabbath and Metallica and give rise to a love of 4/4 rhythm and the riff. From here they veered into where worlds collide – Pink Floyd met the Orb in a student dive and a love of electronica was born, encompassing pioneers such as Orbital, Leftfield et al through to UK D&B, taking in Kruder & Dorfmeister and the dub scene along the way.

The love affair however ended in the early noughties, I wasn’t feeling anything from electronica any more, but I knew the music I could hear in my mind must be out there - somewhere. My musical imaginations seemed to put all of the above aspects in place and was only discovered pre pandemic in the form of deep techno. This discovery so rekindled my love and excitement that I took the plunge into DJing - I wanted to take the music internally heard and create mixes to ease back to and soothe the soul. Voila. I hope you all get the same level of enjoyment from this mix, as I had creating it."

POOLcast 079 - Waldboot

Our latest edition of the POOLcast comes this month from Waldboot. A fictional, artificial construct from the world of Three Apes.

POOLcast 079 is a weave of the musical aspects of this construct. Synthetic, acoustic and emotional sounds, which have their origin in the coincidence of the moment, document a timeless journey through sheer endless worlds. Waldboot's musical form manifests itself in almost exclusively self-synthesized sounds, using various generative algorithms to create a fabric of organic textures and artificial atmospheres. This seemingly tangled web serves as a breeding ground for all sorts of emotional moments and unpredictable ramifications. A kind of a musical maze, which knows neither entrance nor exit. You get the feeling as if you were, are and will irrevocably always have been a part of this mesh.

Coincidence with meaning generates emotions.

Polymorphism

Ruhig - Polymorphism

Mostly a light toned set. Mainly into bright influences but somehow deep and calling out for introspection, disturbed by some heavy and industrial and dark vibes. 125 --> 128 bpm

Hope you will enjoy, I'm always a bit torn apart and I try to figure out what's the best between a very homogenic, consistent and more "autobahn" like set  and something which has more influences, disturbances, rocked from a mood to another. But I guess, this is all a matter of subjectivity, vibes, will, and moment :)

Rocked by the Moods #1 - Ambient/Deep techno set

Adam Michalak is a sound producer who has been releasing his music for labels such as Illegal Alien Records, Silent Season, Lett Records, The Other Way or Parabola Records. He started his production journey in 2010 crafting an ambient and experimental sounds. Gradually, he started moving towards more rhytmic genres such as Deep Techno and Techno. In this podcast, he is returning to his ambient roots for a while. Immerse yourself in these sounds while autumn has unfolded to its fullest potential and is slowly moving towards winter.
