This set is mostly created with sounds collected from all over the world, in order to add an ethnic feeling to my livesets. 
I did not take time to focus on details or shape the sound too much, so most tracks are yet unfinished and it has a very spontaneous vibe to me. 
Thus I rather consider the set as a "preview" of what might come out soon. Still decided to upload it though, to challenge my terrible lack of musical output;)

Javid - whose name means “eternal” in Farsi, has indeed created a timeless piece of music for the next episode in our Urban Cosmonaut Radio series. Featuring a range of his own productions, live improvisations and organic samples, this mixtape tells a story that takes us to a world without borders or geographical boundaries.
Born and raised in Berlin, Javid’s music takes us on a journey through everlasting traditions and rituals of the Middle East, tribal vocals from Africa and organic sounds he’s collected from around the world. His Persian heritage and unique cultural influences fuse together to create a soundscape he describes as “ethno techno” - with basslines full of tangible tension and melodies tainted with melancholia.

UCR #015 by JAVID

For our second mix we travelled to magical Tulum, Mexico!  This mix is the recording of our opening set for the incredible Jungle Heart Decompression party which took place deep in the Mayan jungle on the night of January 10 2016.

With this set we hoped to bring our fellow Jungle Hearts a mix of slow, groovy cumbia, ancient-sounding melodies, and plenty of wildlife, from monkeys to birds!  We were honored to open the night for an incredibly diverse and talented lineup - these artists helped create one of the most special nights any of us Hearts had ever experienced: @chillfaizon, @golden-ratio, Valentin, @joillrythms, @kmln-berlin, @djsabo, El Rojo, @seth-schwarz, and @besvendsen.

The photo was taken by our adopted kid William Barber during the Mayan ceremony that took place right before our set.

Extra special thanks to Ani, Silvie, and all the Jungle Hearts for a perfect week in Tulum.
