PREMIERE: Mark Youssef & Novikoff - Man With No Face (Original Mix)[Truesounds Music]

Esteemed proponent of outré dancefloor manoeuvres, Superconscious Records co-founder Fantastic Man makes his Kalahari debut proper.

Having shown up for rework duties on a couple of occasions, we find the mutable oddball at his most trippy and esoteric. In fact, OYSTER42 is the handiwork of a producer who has his formula of balmy, lysergic dance music down to an exact science.

‘Alltogethernow’ gets on a swaggering cosmic tip, all sub-loaded and celestial as levitational arpeggios and funked-up groove dovetail to mesmeric effect. ‘Alpha’, on the other hand, takes a vision quest through enchanted jungle terrain. Initiating with a hypnotic ritual chant, it’s tunnelling and murkily psychedelic; occulted dancefloor rapture tailor-made for the wormhole interior.

As if it were some artefact from a distant ‘90s utopia, Bioxy’ evokes a time when warehouse parties littered the Melbourne landscape. Where its predecessor evokes ceremony and ritual, this is an anachronistic, dilated flashback to simpler times. FM kicks it languid and life-affirming on the closing number. Radiant synth lines flutter with a gentle headiness as ‘Trojan Force’ takes us full circle with a reprise of the rainforest FX.

Due for release in November, Echoes of Memoria is the eagerly anticipated debut long player from Ameli Paul. A strikingly artistic project that sits somewhere in between electronica, alternative synthpop, breakbeat and even operatic excursions, the Berlin-based outfit has created a truly personal and contemporary work of art that breaks away from normative convention. 

The album was created over the past five years, with each track on the album representing a period in Ameli Paul's turbulent life. With an early Voice message [2016-08-21] (one of the tracks from the album), Ameli inspired Paul into making music together and a love romance between two people was born. 

The melting pot of a trained singer and awarded jazz musician with a successful electronic music producer, the common experiences, impressions, smells, emotions and encounters processed by both Ameli and Paul over the past seven years have shaped their unique musical signature. Overall Echoes of Memoria is a musical diary about transitions, inner turmoil and ultimately their break-up, which all reverberate together to build this monument, honoring and cherishing the countless precious moments they’ve shared. 

Playing live in renowned clubs and festivals, Ameli Paul are increasingly known for casting a spell on their audience. It’s this unique, multifaceted sound that is effortlessly melting genre boundaries and listeners’ hearts around the world. To accompany the album release in November, Ameli Paul will be supporting iconic German producer and internationally celebrated live act Monolink on his huge European winter tour. Taking on over a dozen shows across Germany, Switzerland, Poland, Austria and the Czech Republic in just five weeks, the tour kicks off at Progresja, Warsaw on November 9 and concludes at Zoom, Frankfurt on December 10. Hania Rani is a pianist, composer and musician who splits her life between Warsaw, where she makes her home, and Berlin where she studied and often works. She has written for strings, piano, voice and electronics and has collaborated with the likes of Christian Löffler, Dobrawa Czocher and Hior Chronik, and released an album with her Polish group tęskno last year. She has performed at some of the most prestigious venues in Europe - from the National Philharmony in Warsaw, to Funkhaus in Berlin, to The Roundhouse in London (where she made her debut at the Gondwana 10thanniversary festival last October) and at festivals such as Open'er, Scope Festival and Eurosonic. Her compositions for solo piano were born out of a fascination with the piano as an instrument, and her desire to interpret its sound and harmonic possibilities in their entirety and in her own way.

'Esja' is her debut solo album and for Rani it is her first, real, personal statement as an artist. "No hiding behind the "collaborations" or "projects" anymore. For the very first time, finally - just me, as I am".

Recorded at Rani's apartment in Warsaw (the piano room has a beautiful reverb and the space has become part art studio and part sound laboratory for Rani) and at her friend Bergur Þórisson'sstudio in Reykjavik, Esja is a series of beautiful melodic vignettes. Sensual, sensitive, rhythmic, atmospheric, free but harmonious, beguiling and hypnotic, collectively they project a sense of unlimited space and time.

Nalaxx, new artist coming from Caen, live in Paris, stage have been playing piano since a young age. He masters multiple instruments: guitar, accordion, keyboard and MPC). As a traveler, he got inspired by his many cultural discoveries around the world like China, Balkans,Egypt and Guadeloupe. He knows how to combine different cultures. Listening to his dream-like Oriental music gives us the sensation of wanderlust. On scene, Nalaxx jungles between instruments and machines. His surprising set brings us to this psychedelic world as well as meditative and dancing. His first EP, Human released on the 9th of May 2016 at SMB Records, is a mix between Goa Trance, Electro, and psyche-rock.

Nalaxx, artiste issu de la scène électro caennaise, commence très jeune par le piano classique.
Multi-instrumentiste ( guitare, accordéon, claviers, mpc ) et globe-trotter ( Chine, Balkans, Guadeloupe) , il exhume de ses voyages des compositions teintées d'onirisme extrême-orientale.
Sur scène, il jongle avec bonheur entre machines et instruments, son set prenant de l'altitude avec des sonorités psychédéliques, méditatives et dansantes à la fois.
