Milking Stones For Monday

After years of releasing music and touring with his band The Acid, Steve Nalepa returns with a new solo LP ​Thoughtforms.​ Across 11 tracks, the album finds arpeggiating synths colliding with shimmering effects, waves of droning shoegaze and jacking Chicago house beats. The songs began as live takes in the studio, Nalepa running his extensive collection of synths through an arsenal of delays, reverbs and loopers. The tracks alternate between lush, hypnotic drifters and textured, ambient techno. All the songs were written, produced, mixed and mastered by Nalepa with videos for each song from an all-star cast of artists. The only additional musical contributor is The Distiller’s guitar virtuoso Tony Bevilacqua, Nalepa’s bandmate in Airspace.

Californian polymath Steve Nalepa is known for his vast and eclectic array of artistic collaborators, a key node in the electronic music scene cultivated through years of creating music and producing events. Together with Ry X and Adam Freeland he releases music and tours with his band The Acid (Infectious/Mute), creates cinematic drone as Airspace (Mute), and helped launch esteemed beat collective TeamSupreme as one of the founding members. He’s published award-winning art books through the self-launched Dilettante Press, scored several feature-length documentary films and devised/engineered Ableton Live rigs for such acts as Blood Orange, Nick Murphy, Drake and The Weeknd.
