This project is a podcast that analyzes food insecurity within Miami-Dade County, specifically among children. It prompts listeners with ways that anyone can help. Food insecurity, or food scarcity, is when an individual does not have access to enough food or is not of sufficient quality to meet their needs. Through the analysis of reputable sources, whose primary focus was bringing awareness to food insecurity, and an interview with someone who works within Miami-Dade’s public school system, we can bring awareness to the issue and propose solutions that anyone can adopt, such as promoting programs via social media.
