BANG

It’s a one hour mix of soundtracks that I composed and performed live for a screening of a movie “Swan Lake: The Zone”, (1990) directed by Yuri Ilyenko. 

The screening happened during a Ukrainian fundraised Svitlo on February 25th, 2023 in Montreal. Please see the event page for more details(https://www.instagram.com/cv1tlo/).

This soundtrack live set that I designed consists of some of my previous works as well as compositions created specifically for this movie and one track which was a sound collaboration with my partner Ksenia Kil. 

This live set was my personal challenge because I had only one week to finish it. Performance consisted of 3 layers of sounds: main layer with pre-recorded sounds, second layer with samples that I manipulated live and third level - hardware portion of performance(Koma fieldkit+microcassette tape recorder).

Liveset performance for movie Swan Lake: The Zone (1990)

"Gradom" is the next chapter of YUVI's story, which began in the single "Zhyva": it's a story about life and death, their coexistence and finding balance. The single has a richer soundscape: gloomy and airy at the same time, with drum and bass flashes hidden behind the detached lyrics, like single lightning bolts in a black stormy sky. "Gradom" was written at the beginning of the full-scale invasion, in search of a way out of the state of fear and anxiety, and later YUVI revised it with attention to the experience gained. From the reflection on the experience of last year's events, a poignant personal testimony was born, emphasized by detailed production.

Facheroia @facheroia, a DJ and composer born in Crimea. She picks and chooses from different sounds, but her selection is mostly focused on uk garage, electro and acid house. She loves nostalgic, melodic vibes of the 90's as well as heavy bassline tracks known as speed garage. 
Apart from playing at clubs, she composes music for theater plays and performances, very often using her field and voice recordings. She co-creates the musical part of Kem initiative, which is focused on choreographic and performative practices.
