Stone Flower

To be released on New Year's day of the Iranian year 1400, Ubersee Music label head, Namito teams up with the German-Iranian journalist and musician, "Bamdad Esmaili", who celebrates his first ever release! Bamdad masters the traditional Iranian instrument "Santoor" for this collaboration.

Like Namito, Bamdad was evacuated to Germany during the Iran-Iraq war, is known for his tireless journalistic education, about the situation of the refugees in Europe. The track title "Q&A" pays homage to his research and the track itself is an exciting fusion of traditional oriental sounds meets techno!

Once in a while, I play a vinyl-only set with music from the time I used to DJ with the black gold. Last night I played one of those sets at the mighty Hammahalle at Sisyphos Berlin. 
I was not sure how people would react but we had a blast. I wish I had also recorded the reactions from the floor!

"Sol Selectas starts 2022 with a dazzling compilation featuring eleven organic house tracks by Derun, Namito, Hot Oasis, Guy Maayan, KÖNI, Clay Lio, Deenara, Memo Rex and Ece Ekren. Plus, two collaborative tracks, the first by Choopie and Golan Zocher, then a second by Dachshund and Quenum.

This spectacular selection has been hand-picked and curated by label owner Sabo, and has an uplifting mood that focuses on a concept of new beginnings to mark the start of 2022. Although each of the tracks focuses on organic house, it also takes influence from other genres such as minimal, deep tech, and indie dance.

'Global Entry 3' is the third in in the label’s annual series of winter releases which help warm our hearts and minds, as we wait for the summer months and the outdoor party season.

The artists who feature on the release are a mix of label favourites such as Namito and Derun, but this compilation also welcomes some fresh talent to the Sol Selectas family with Ece Ekran, Deenara and Quenum amongst those being welcomed into the fold.

Embracing different cultures from around the world, this multicultural release features music with roots in Turkey, Ukraine, Germany, Egypt, America, Iran and Israel.

Collectively, the artists who feature on this release has individually featured on other influential record labels such as A Tribe Called Kotori, Bar 25 Music, Akbal Music, Cosmic Awakenings, Bedrock, 8bit, Balance Music, Cocoon and Crosstown Rebels.

Sabo's record label, Sol Selectas welcomes a new organic house EP from imprint favourite Namito, which also includes a collaborative remix by Shan Nash and Rebeat.

Namito is an Iranian artist currently living in Berlin and he is internationally respected for his uplifting style that blends enchanting melodies and deep atmospherics with flowing percussion. Along with numerous releases on Sol Selectas he has also featured tracks and remixes on other scene-leading record labels such as Bedrock, Bar 25, Katermukke, Global Underground and Embassy One.

Sol Selectas fans need little introduction to Namito's iconic 2019 track "Stone Flower" as it was a chart-topping success that remains one of the record label's most popular tracks to date.

Shan Nash and Rebeat are Iranian artists collaborating together for the first time, and both are respected solo artists that have been making waves as talented producers. Shan Nash is known for dropping organic house tracks via Cafe De Anatolia, Lump Records, Pipe & Pochet as well as Shango Records. Rebeat produces in styles ranging from deep house to melodic techno, featuring on labels ranging from Kosa to Dubfire's SCI+TEC.

"Legend" opens the release with an earthy conga loop, shuffling high-end percussion and a deep bassline that's rich in sub-bass. The shimmering pads and haunting vocals build towards an epic breakdown with spellbinding Iranian lyrics, then there is a lift in energy when the percussion hits back in.

Shan Nash and Rebeat's remix of "Legend" adds a new pulsating bassline and a techy percussion loop that gives their version a hypnotic groove. Stripping back the synths so the drums and vocals become the main focus, it's an up-tempo rework that is tailored to the dance floor.

The cover by Helia Jamali portrays an old legend carrying blossoming branches, traversing across the mountains of destiny, into the unknown.

Born in Tehran, Iran in November 1971 in a tranquil middle class family, Namito experienced the bloody turmoil of the revolution and war at an early age before his parents sent him to West Germany for a better future. In Berlin, he quickly learned German and immersed himself in the local DJ scene, ultimately dropping out of school in 1989 to pursue his biggest passion in life - music.
Namito's career as a DJ quickly took off when his own music releases saw daylight on renowned international labels such as Kling Klong, Systematic Recordings, Kompakt, Yoshitoshi, Selador or SolSelectas. He gained residencies at top Berlin clubs such as Tresor and was invited to Sternradio as well as performed at renowned venues worldwide. Over the years, Namito collaborated with various artists, including Marc Romboy (Innervisions, Kompakt, Bedrock)) and Grandmaster Flash, with whom he made parts of the music for the Netflix show "The Get Down."

In 2019, Namito achieved further success with the release of his Electronica album "Far From Home," featuring the hit track "Stone Flower," which became the best-selling Electronica track of the year on Beatport. In 2020, Satori reinterpreted "Stone Flower" by incorporating vocals from the legendary Afghan artist Ahmed Zahir. In late 2021,
Namito celebrated his 25-year career as a producer with the release of "Namito 25Y - Four EPs," comprising 12 remixes selected by fellow producers, showcasing his diverse discography ranging from early trance-infused releases to minimalist and tech house tracks. This musical journey reflects Namito's evolution as a producer, traversing various genres such as big room techno, ecstatic italo disco, brooding house, chilled electronica, and trance.

Namito's artistic pursuits extend beyond music. In 2018, he showcased his paintings at a Berlin gallery, demonstrating his multidimensional creativity. In 2021, Namito joined JMES WORLD as the Creative Head of Technology, engaging in a crypto project, further highlighting his diverse interests and ventures.

Born in November 1971 in Tehran, Iran, Namito grew up in a tranquil middle class family in the Northern part of the city. After witnessing the
bloody revolution and a notorious war in Iran his parents decided to send him to West Germany for a better future. In West-Berlin Namito visited the school where he quickly learned German and adopted to the new environment. His enthusiasm for the art of djing was so strong that he dropped out of school and in 1989 and started a career persisting now over three decades. What first took off as DJ in the local, buzzing Berlin Techno scene turned international as soon as Namito released his
own music productions on renown, international labels such as Kling Klong (GER), Systematic Recordings (GER), Kompakt (GER), Yoshitoshi (US), Selador (UK) and SolSelectas (US) only to name a
few. Residencies in the best Berlin clubs like Tresor and Sternradio were followed by international gigs in all continents.
In the recent years Namito coproduced many other artists including Marc Romboy (Innervisions, Kompakt, Bedrock) , where he also

In 2019 Namito not only released the Electronica album “Leaving Everything Behind” on the legendary Balance Music but his track “Stone Flower” became also an international hit and was the best
selling Electronica track of the year on Beatport, the worlds leading shop and platform for electronic music.
That Namito doesn't limit himself as an artist only to being a music producer and DJ, he displayed with the first exhibition of his paintings from August till the end of November 2018 in Berlin at the gallery of the
famous nHow Hotel.

Rod Brito is a Brazilian artist who has been refining his craft for over two decades, travelling the world and soaking up influences for his unique brand of expressive, atmospheric electronic music. 

With this release on the ever impressive Zatar, we get a glimpse into some of those influences via Kamanche - shared here in its original form and via a remix from Namito. 

The original is a vibey exploration into groove, featuring esoteric instrumentation on top of a driving rhythm section. The whole thing is augmented by additional percussion that brings the track into a new dimension. 

The Namito remix strips the groove down and builds it back up in a new way, giving a slightly new feel that stays true to the spirit of the original.

And again a true international masterpiece on Martin Eyerer & Rainer Weichhold's label: Iranian maestro Namito joins forces with his close friend Rummy Sharma from Dehli (India) who brought these great gospel vocals from a UK children choir to combine them with Namito's amazing studio skills. The result is an outstanding clubtrack with a very positive vibe, just right to start the Ibiza season. 
Belgian superstar Kolombo not just did a great remix but also found a singer (Ashibah) to add some fantastic new vocals to the track. A true upgrade. Let's not forget our bavarian friends Pele & Shawnecy and their driving remix to put the dancefloor onto a complete different level. A Kling Klong highlight for sure.
