Regarded as the father of contemporary haiku, Masaoka Shiki was a poet and literary critic during the Meiji period Japan.

He advocated realistic observation by “sketching” (shasei) poems and going out into nature with notebooks, thus abandoning the traditional subjects of haiku of the time. His advice for an aspiring poet was, “Use both imaginary pictures and real ones, but prefer the real ones.”

Misty Rain (Naviarhaiku559)

Originally put down Nord Electo 3 on Rhoads patch thru an El capistan tape delay emulation. Me and Nova were playing around when I came up with this. Then put a Roland drum machine beat behind it, from an MC-707. I then did the guitar Fender Jazzmaster thru a Fender reverb tank, and a Baldwin Amp, miced with a  Shure BETA 56, found on YouTube some water samples and an interview with an Australian native speaking about the Great Barrier Reef & some recording of kids playing, Ran that thru the El Capistan as well. Recorded some Cymbals from the MC-707 thru a Earthquaker devices Phaser, and a tambourine/ vibra-slap thru an AT 4033 and a Presonous Eurika pre. Synth was MC-707 pad with volume pedal, Then Bass Fender p thru Eurika as well. Recorded into a Tascam Model 12 and edited in ProTools.
