Everybody is looking for the meaning of life, that is, what it means to have a Life in the Universe. Religions, spiritual theories and science have tried since the dawn of ages to solve this mystery in order to reach this elusive understanding. But perhaps we do not need to reach the catharsis of a final understanding, maybe we can just accept life as it is and linger in the sonic treasures that Taboo has given us. 

This oozing piece is made by Taboo, aka Michael Mordehayov, an Israeli artist (also known as Space Hypnose) originally from Azerbaijan, and slowly conquering the entire psychedelic realm. In this EP Mordehayov leaps back to his Chill-Out origins to deliver the much needed soothing sounds that wrap you in a sea of clouds into the Promised Land. 

Life in the Universe will always remain a mystery, an unveiled slippery thing that escapes our sensorium endlessly. Therefore, there is no need to look for an Astrological Symbol in order to try and reach some kind of answer. It will always be this thing that is between Lost Worlds. So why don’t you just enjoy the journey and accept life as it is?

Sometimes it's a matter of perspective. It’s that old story: If you only know one leg of the elephant, you might think it's a tree. Only different perspectives give you the full picture.

The same applies to a frame. For some, it means orientation, focus, safety, or the rules for a good game. For others, a frame means limitation, restriction, regulation, or an inappropriate narrative. Both perspectives are valid depending on space, time, and the people involved. Of course, different perspectives are not alternative facts. A fire in the Carakum Desert is not a date grove. However, the meaning of a fact depends on our perspective. Behind some perspectives are needs. That is human nature. I want to dance, you want to dance. Shall we try it together? Not every step on the other’s toe is wicked intent. Sometimes it's clumsiness, sometimes it's even funny, and sometimes you've just made a really wild move yourself. Sometimes it's a wake-up call… When we forget how to share different perspectives, we see trees where there are elephants, we see division where there are similarities, and fears are fulfilled instead of needs. And in the end, we may only see letters where we actually can hear Meeronauten Musik!

cleaning the slate. these are a collection of tracks I made over the last 2 years, some finished, some unfinished, that will serve as a symbolic reference point to a new "era" of my music and whatever it is i've been doing online with this stuff for the last 10 years.

I will be back eventually with what I would hope would be my first "proper" album, whatever that means. when it will be, I don't know. maybe it'll eventually exist or maybe i'll just keep uploading whatever shit i make and calling it an album, end of the day its all music. for now, feel free to enjoy the 500+ tracks I've uploaded over the last 10 years. Tyler Gibson & Torin Goodnight have been carefully concocting euphoric sonic remedies as solo artists GIBSON and Bird of Prey, respectively, for many, many years. The two California natives have each developed distinct sounds that when fused work in blissful harmony to form what we’ve come to know as Birds of Paradise. The duo began their phonic partnership with the “Ascended Blasters EP” in early 2012, which contained four breakbeat and downtempo compositions that defied convention by creating a surreal conglomerate of tantalizing tropical tranquility and mind bending, crisp and bizarre bass sound. 

The pair followed up shortly after with their first full-length release, the now classic “Flight Patterns,” which released in late 2013. The aural pilgrimage traversed a multitude of tempos and genres while building upon the auditory aesthetic crafted in their previous work. The chemistry between the two only multiplied and with “Flight Patterns” Birds of Paradise established themselves as a driving force in captivating and thought-provoking electronic music. 

It’s been nearly two years since the original release of “Flight Patterns,” and now the album returns for some rewiring by a diverse selection of phenomenal soundbuilders  “Flight Patterns (Re-Routed)” contains 15 tracks from a mystical potpourri of producers new and old, and features an immense spectrum of sounds and emotions that includes Downtempo, Breakbeat, Glitch Hop, IDM and more. 

Hearing songs in a new light is always a momentous experience. Remix albums are incredibly special because they allow you to comprehend a certain set of sounds in a truly novel and unfamiliar way. Eat Static’s remix of “Invincible Love Song” twists the song a long a new route with a psychedelic Drum & Bass Influence. Goosebumpz provides some glorious glitch and brings a necessary balance of bounce and bass. Sixis gets extra weird with it and creates a bombastic and brain boggling recreation of “Sonic Bloom.” Land Switcher’s psydub remix breathes new life into an already intricate and heavily textured “Skyward Eye.” The diversity of the artists chosen to contribute is what makes this project noteworthy - each of them bring a different aspect of their production talent to the table. Listening to pieces of music that you’ve come to know and love evolve in ways you never could have imagined is truly special, and “Flight Patterns (Re-Routed)” does just this.

Language of the Ancients

Using original recordings from the mountains of Nepal, the deserts of India and the jungles of Australia and Central America,  Nango Manchay  has learned and incorporated instruments from all corners of the earth to create an original sound the spans borders and traditional genres.

The result is the expansive album  Under Our Sun which was released on  Desert Trax  on  April 5th 2019. From the opening hit of Varanasi Flame to the closing notes of Diambura the Nango Manchay sound envelops and hypnotizes. The guitarist and sitar player also features on the seminal album  Grouch in Dub and his lush string sound has found a home on  Desert Dwellers label. Nango Manchay’s music is filled with gorgeous melody at each stop along the cosmic journey. Rich, pulsing midtempo breaks and more intricate downtempo and bass-centric musings are held together by the connective thread of real bowed, plucked and strummed strings. 

“Under Our Sun  is a tribute to the unification of humanity and the common goals of peace and understanding that is an underlying part of what makes us all human,” he notes “We are all under the same sun, we share this planet together and this album represents many cultures uniting to create music of beauty that reflects the awe and grandeur of nature, our shared home and the depths of our own consciousness.”

Nango Manchay has collaborated with many artists and has releases planned with Desert Dwellers and Nanosphere over the next year as well as a new Nango Manchay EP.
